Update #6: GOAL !!!!
Update #5: Getting Closer and New Cast Members
Well, as we come around the home stretch, we are getting so close to our goal. This is, of course, thanks to a fantastic group of generous people, or its just a bunch of disturbed people that like horror movies to a fault, I can't tell. Either way we'll take it, and its pretty exciting.
In other news we have officially cast the last two roles of the movie. The young Jacob Marr and the mother Mrs. Marr. They are Joshua Bednarsky and Felicia Greenfield respectively. Both of them come to the picture with an already impressive resume and I'm excited to see them and one of the first people we cast in the movie, Mr Marr played by Gerard J. Savoy, work together and become a family on camera. It should be fun and, I guess in the end, horrific as well.
Stay tuned and spread the word as we come to the finish line in both this KickStarter page and the movie.

Update #4: Cast Update
Well with 16 days to go on our pledge drive here, we are 48% funded! Everyone has been so awesome supporting our movie and getting the word out that it really has been a great experience thanks to our generous backers.
In production news we have finally settled on the last two cast members, young Jacob Marr and his mother Mrs. Marr and are finalizing the details as we speak. We are also continuing to get ready for the last weekend of shooting that is coming up in the next couple of weeks. So I'm knee deep in 80's paraphernalia for the set dressing of the cabin, its weird.
We also got back the ax prop that I gave to my SFX master. His task was to make safe versions of a woodcutters ax for that last weekend of filming. One of the axes below is real, the others are not. Can you tell which is which? (I hope we can on set or we are in trouble)
Update #3: So far so good
Well another week down and another step closer to our goal. We have just stepped over the 30 days to go mark and we are 27% funded, so I think we are on a good track, thanks to you guys.
In the production news we had our first round of auditions for Mrs. Marr and Jacob Marr, the two principals for the prologue scene we are planning on filming in June, last week and it went really well. We had some really talented people show up and we ended up filling three hours worth of audition time in the studio. Now I'm in the midst of setting up some callbacks so we can lock this down and be ready to roll once we get funding.
Our special effects guy, Anthony Jones, is in the midst of preparing for the scene that will end up being the first kill in the movie and the first splash of blood sort to speak. He is excited.
We have also started scouring the Salvation Army Thrift stores as the scene we are filming takes place in 1985 so we need to dress the set for that time period.
Stay tuned, more to come...

I have been working with video for over 18 years. I got my start, as many aspiring filmmakers did, with my father’s video camera and making short horror movies with my friend on VHS. I attended the New York Film Academy and two things became abundantly clear, this was what I wanted to do, and film is really expensive. I worked with video for a number of years after that, looking for a foothold into the film world. All the while, graduating from VHS to VHS-C, on to Hi8, MiniDV, and now finally HD P2. Fortunately now video has become such an accepted medium that with the new HD P2 technology I can create the movies I want to create, keep costs down, and give the quality product I need for people to enjoy the finished work. On set I'm willing to do whatever job I need to bring my vision to life, I have been known to wear multiple hats in my productions, from Director and Producer, to Key Grip and Location Scout. I’ll even throw on a chef’s hat and cook up a meal for crafts services. I believe it’s this passion and dedication that I apply to my projects that gets people excited about them as well, and in the end that's really the idea.
