Working on my first full production studio album!
My goal is to record an album which is of the highest quality.
Something I can personally be proud of that is truly representative of my over 20 years of songwriting. 9 songs have been selected from a pool of approximately 50 songs with the assistance of producer and good friend James Gascoyne. James has a very impressive resume having worked as a guitarist with regional rising stars 'Railbird' and 'The Rodeo Barons'. In addition to overseeing the production of this album -he will be playing bass.
Sam Zucchini of the nationally famous children's band 'The Zucchini Brothers', and member of Kate Taylor's (James Taylor's sister) band, will be playing drums rounded out by Chris Carey handling the lead guitar and piano/organ parts. Chris is an amazing singer-songwriter in his own right as leader of 'The Rodeo Barons' -his sensibility will be sure to help make the album as vibrant and true to form as possible.
The Cost to make something great.
$2000 : Studio time at Black Dog (including engineer -Frank Moscowitz), 2 days basic tracks, 2days overdubbing/mixing.

Ok - continuing on with the list of costs:
- $2,000: CD Mastering and Replication
- $300: Marketing (Kickstarter, Design, Advertising etc.)
- $2,200: Studio Musician's
- $500: Miscellaneous Cost (Food, Hard Drive, Travel)
Total= $7000
To give some additional perspective on cost – major label recordings can range from $150,000 to millions. $7,000 is a modest budget – but should be enough for me and my bandmates to produce a professional account of the songs I have written.
Everything is in place and properly planned to achieve this goal -but without the support/demand for this to happen from my friends/fans -it will be extremely difficult to put out a professional product.
