Update #8: Received?
Update #7: On the way!
What lovely sight, a box full of completed META-COMICS Issues! They look amazing, thanks to the wonderful printer I utilized in Philadelphia, Replica (http://www.printatreplica.com/). Their prices were very competitive, and I was very happy to keep business localized.
Rewards will start rolling out next week, and will all be sent by the end of the month.
Again, thank you ALL for your support. I do hope you enjoy the zine and track down the work of the contributors. Using Kickstarter was a new experience, and I learned a lot while working through all the parts.
Regards,
A.j. Michel
Update #6: YOU did it!
Thank you Backers! All 38 of you!
The campaign closed last night, and in the end the project was 113% funded.
Early next week, I will be sending each of you a survey asking how you would like to be listed on the "Thank You" page (or if you want to remain anonymous), and your mailing address for rewards. (Even if you think I have your most current mailing address, I'm going to ask you to send it again.) Kickstarter only lets you send 1 survey, so consider this the advanced notice that it's coming next week.
Again, thank you ALL.
Update #5: Of mock-ups and printing
Hello!
Just wanted to send the backers an update on the progress of the issue.
Most of the issue is completely designed, except for the inside covers, which need to wait until the campaign is over to build the "thank you" list. Here's a picture of the awesome cover designed by JB Winter. (Also note the Charlie Brown notebook and Watchmen coaster. Hey, I like comics.)
I've found a good local place for the digital printing. They have a high-end Canon ImageRunner, prices are fair, and I feel better keeping the job local rather than sending out to a place in Wisconsin and having all the finished books shipped here. It's only about a $50 price difference, and the piece of mind is worth it.
The Kickstarter Campaign runs until 9/15, so please keep spreading that link (in a non-annoying way, of course). It seems so far off, but when I launched this project I never thought it would reach the goal in only 8 days!
Regards,
A.j. Michel
Update #4: In just over 8 days... FUNDED!

Thank you thank you thank you!

A.j. Michel
PS: The project closes on 9/15, so keep spreading that link if you wish!
