People love our honey so much, it's giving us hives...Seriously, there is nothing like pure raw, unprocessed deliciousness called honey. Unfortunately today, for most people, their experience with honey is not actually pure honey. Big commercial companies mix additives in the honey, use chemicals on the beehives to prevent pests, which end up in your honey, and they are also forced to put profit before the health of the bees.
So we are doing something different.
We are providing pure raw (and local if in NW Florida) honey.
Honey that is harvested from hives that are healthy & sustainable - without chemical use.
Honey from hives where we leave a surplus on the hives for bees to winter with.
Honey that is cultivated by our family and that we proudly put our name on.
Honey that is 100% pure, raw and unprocessed.
People taste the difference. They want more. They say our honey is curing their allergies because it is SO LOCAL & RAW! However, because of this - we can hardly keep up with the demand- thus the need for this project.
The East Hill Honey Kickstarter project will help fund the purchase of necessary beekeeping equipment, help create new apiaries and support the local and urban bee population throughout Pensacola and NW Florida. The demand for the artisan honey from our 20 hives has been overwhelming and more than we can supply and thus we are looking to expand our community of hives to around 100 hives and in addition build a "honey house" that can mange the larger volume of honey while still maintaining our holistic approach to beekeeping in an urban setting. The cost to set up a single hive is approximately $200 and we are also in need of a new stainless steel honey extractor and unheated de-capper which will run us several thousand dollars combined.
In addition to providing more raw, unprocessed honey to you and others in our community, our bees will be pollinating thousands of acres of urban setting in Pensacola, FL which will not only be beneficial to our community as a whole, but to every backyard and commercial farmer alike!
