Update #3: A Preview this Sunday

Hello everyone,

We are finished with the editing process, now time for mastering! I am so grateful to my editor Laura Inserra for her expertise and support.  The last step in the process is the cover.  I have a wonderful designer, Arianna Tondo, from Sicily and a photo shoot scheduled this Saturday. 

I wanted to let you know that Laura and I are performing at the Numi Tea House, 2230 Livingston Street in Oakland, CA this Sunday from 6-8 pm. I will be singing a few songs from the CD, and we will be playing a preview of the CD during intermission. It looks like the CD will be finished in April and I will let you know about the CD release concerts in Nevada City and Berkeley.  Thank you so much for your support and encouragement!!

Update #2: The editing begins!

Hello everyone, Laura and I met today to listen with fresh ears to the recorded tracks. We both heard new possibilities for flourishes and finishing touches. Although I am excited to finish the cd so I can share it with all of you, I am also grateful for the space in which songs continue to grow. We are going to dive into editing in mid October after the Art in Nature festival. This is a beautiful event that Laura is producing in Redwood Regional Park in Oakland on Sunday, October 2nd. Over 120 artists are participating, I will be there singing from the trees:) You can check out the link here, www.artinnaturefestival.org. I hope to have the cd finished by mid November, and to release it in the beginning of December with house concerts in Berkeley and Nevada City. For those of you that signed up for sound blessings or voice lessons/healings I will be contacting you this week to schedule. Again, I feel so much gratitude. It is wonderful to feel your support. Hello Friends and Family, Thank you!!! I feel so moved, and grateful for your support. We surpassed the goal, $3,006 with 44 hours to go! I can't wait to start editing. I hope to have the CD finished and to share it with you by the end of September. I appreciate each and every one of you, you all have given me quite a gift. Blessings, Shay

A singer and improviser from the Bay area, Shay Nichols sings in a style all her own. Intimate, ethereal, and inventive, her singing expresses the longing and beauty of the heart. She loves the voice in all its forms, and loves helping people experience the beauty and power of their voice. A graduate of the CIIS Voice/Sound Healing program, she performs at dance and sacred events. She has been leading workshops and teaching privately since 2007.
