About this project

     I love the voice in all its forms. Like the wilderness and waters that inspire me, I love its intimacy, its nakedness, its wild versatility and unpredictability. I create songs that carry the aliveness I love about improvisation and the organic, soundscapes I find in nature.

      This cd is a year and a half in the making. Born in and inspired by natural environments such as the Marin Headlands,Big Sur, and the Yuba river,  the songs continued to evolve right up until the moment of recording.

     I am deeply grateful for the guidance, creative support, and technical expertise of my friend and audio engineer Laura Inserra, an amazing composer and musician. We recorded for three days in the temple where I live.   She encouraged me to improvise in the mornings like I normally do, and some of these spontaneous compositions are on the album. For me, improvising is a very intimate kind of singing, and I feel so blessed that with Laura's support, I was able to access this intimacy in the recording process.

     I sing from my heart, from a very deep place inside of me, and I feel grateful to be able to share this music with you.  I need to raise $2500 for this project to cover recording, editing, mixing, mastering, and duplication. I have one month to raise all of the money-Kickstarter is all or nothing!
