Update #10: Less than 31 hours to go! Important update concerning shipping cost.
This update concerns those who have pledged to receive the CloudFTP unit as reward.
First thing first, we will only ask for your shipping address via a Kickstarter survey after funding ends. We are expecting to receive the funds from Kickstarter/Amazon about 3 weeks after funding ends, around Jan 27. We will start shipping the CloudFTP units soon after we receive the funds in early February on a first come first basis. The first batch of CloudFTP units have already been produced, we are just fine tuning the software.
Lately we have been getting a lot of questions about how to add shipping cost to the pledges.
If you want the CloudFTP shipped within the United States (including Alaska, Hawaii & Puerto Rico) or have pledged $500 or more, then shipping cost has already been included in the pledges.
If you want to ship OUTSIDE the United States, you need to add $15-$30 to your pledge
For example:
Receive 1 x CloudFTP: $69 pledge + $15 shipping = Pledge $84 (or $79 if you had pledged in the sold out $69 reward that offered $10 International shipping)
Receive 2 x CloudFTP: $135 pledge + $20 shipping = Pledge $155
Receive 3 x CloudFTP: $199 pledge + $30 shipping = Pledge $229
If you need to add any shipping cost, you have until Friday Jan 6, 10:36PM EST to click the big green button on the project home page to manage/modify your pledge to reflect the shipping cost.
Hope this makes everything clear.
Please post your comments to this update if you are still not sure or have any questions pertaining to shipping.

Would like to ask this question. Based on a first come first serve basis, does it mean you will ship to US first than International last?? I have support many projects however to my displease. It's always the international backer that are sent the last...
Will you be sending them at the same time? Or how would u process doing this?

Daniel Chin on January 18
Hi all, we just came back from exhibiting the CloudFTP at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week. See us in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch...
We will be sending out an email to everyone very soon for you to login to our online store to enter your shipping address and choose the color of the product.
For those of you living outside the US and have not paid for International shipping, there will also be an opportunity to make payment with major credit cards.
We are still on schedule for February delivery.
Thanks all!

If you're using a different method than all other Kickstarter projects, please make sure to announce it here. My spam filter really doesn't like email containing links, so I'll need to check my spam folder. Or, you could use the standard Kickstarter survey system to get our info.

Update #9: We've been busy…only 7 days left to the end of the project!
We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend.
This is definitely the busiest holiday season for us and I'm not talking about being busy with shopping or partying.
The past month, we have been busy producing the CloudFTP units so that we can deliver in time after the end of the project.
Here are some photos from our factory, not unlike elves making toys in Santa Claus factory :)

This is the SMT (Surface-Mount Technology) line where most of the components are machine mounted in an automated process onto the PCB (printed circuit board) of CloudFTP. Here a worker is inspecting the PCB board.

Production assembly line, where the rest of the product are assembled and tested.

A worker installing the wireless antenna to CloudFTP

A worker soldering the WiFi module onto the main PCB circuit board

Products undergoing final inspection and testing before being packed.
The hardware portion of CloudFTP is already completed. We are now busy optimizing the code, GUI software, and developer tools.
Thanks to all those who have made new feature suggestions. The CloudFTP unit runs on Linux and pretty powerful hardware so if the new features are achievable via software tweaks, we will definitely do our utmost to implement it or provide the necessary development tools for others to achieve the new features.
Some of the new features that will be made possible with future software updates
- Connect a USB mobile Internet modem to CloudFTP and turn it into a MiFi hotspot device
- DSLR cameras shooting tethered to CloudFTP, sending photos as they shoot to the Cloud or other WiFi devices
- Make a USB printer wireless
- DLNA, WebDAV and other server protocols
Lastly, we are less than 7 days till to the end of the project. Please help us spread the word of this project to your friends. If you have not done so, please click the Facebook like button or Twitter tweet button.
Once this Kickstarter project is over, the CloudFTP will only be available much later at the full retail price of at least $99.95.

@Robert Bellus Guess we will have to start another Kickstarter project for those hats :)

Daniel Chin on January 5
@Andrew Jung They are paid above average. There is a current shortage of low cost labor in China, so if we don't pay them well enough, they will just leave for another factory.

Update #7: Happy Thanksgiving!
Today is Thanksgiving Day in the U.S. and also very likely the day when our project will hit its $100K funding goal (we are currently at $96,199 at 4:22pm PST)
We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone and their families a Happy Thanksgiving Day!

This Thanksgiving, we are most thankful for all the support you have given to the CloudFTP project. 5 days ago, we were at 50% funding and we call for everyone to spread the word.
We said,
"if everyone of our 518 backers can convince another person to pledge the same amount of money, this project will be 100% funded in no time"
Thanks to everyone's effort, that is now a reality, well almost :)
If you have not spread the word, it's never too late to let your friends and family know via facebook, twitter, email or over the Thanksgiving dinner table.
Help us push past the $100K mark. We are just $3,801 away.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Daniel & the CloudFTP team

Update #5: 50% funded in 12 days
We are now 50% funded in less than 12 days since the project went live. Special thanks to our new top backers: Mohammad Alosaimi ($2,500) and Paul Stern ($750).
Not forgetting the rest of YOU who support our product and making CloudFTP one of the most popular Kickstarter project for 2 weeks running. Thank you so much!

Help us spread the word
Still we have the 2nd half to finish so if everyone of our 518 backers can spread news about the CloudFTP project via facebook, twitter, email, word of mouth whatever and convince another person to pledge the same amount of money, this project will be 100% funded in no time. So please help us spread the word now!
We would also like to thank Andrew Tarantola of Gizmodo for providing coverage and bringing awareness to this project.
http://gizmodo.com/5860730/cloudftp-wi+fi-enables-just-about-anything
It was one of the most popular post with 20K+ hits and 50 comments.
If only Engadget, Techncrunch, Mashable etc. would follow suit.
Update #4: 5 days. 21% funded. We need your help!

John Pozadzides & Cali Lewis of GeekBeat.TV ($1,000)

We understand that your money is hard earned and appreciate your generosity in helping us to achieve our dream.
While it's great to know that we are already 21% funded in just under 5 days, we are still a long way from our goal and it is important that we do not lose momentum now.
Remember. This project gets $0, ZERO, ZILCH NADA if we don't reach our $100,000 target.
If you want this project to succeed sooner and if you have not already done so, please TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS about this amazing and useful product via facebook, twitter, email, word of mouth whatever, so that they in turn can spread the word and let their friends know.
We salute you, our wonderful backers!
Update #3: CloudFTP at CES Unveiled New York Press Preview
Check out our photos at the CES Unveiled@NY held at the Metropolitan Pavilion NYC on November 8, 2011.
This is a press event to announce the winners of the CES Innovations Design & Engineering Awards as well as offer a preview to next year's Consumer Electronics Show 2012 in Las Vegas.
Update #1: First 24 hours
Wow the first 24 hours have been really exciting for us.
Within minutes of launching our project, we got our very first backer (thanks Irawan!) This is despite the project having zero publicity up at that point.
We just showcased CloudFTP at a New York press event called CES Unveiled@NY (photos/videos to come later). The media were crazy over this project so you are definitely going to read a lot about CloudFTP in the coming days.
AND....
We got our first $1,000 backer! Thanks to GeekBeat.tv fronted by the lovely Cali Lewis (one of the top female Internet personalities) and her boss, John (done it all) Pozadzides. You can read John's wonderful blog post here:

They make an amazing web show about tech and you should definitely check it out at http://www.geekbeat.tv
We are still a long way from our goal, so please tell all your friends about CloudFTP. Every dollar helps to reach our target!
This is me signing off, somewhere over Chicago, on board a flight from New York back to San Francisco.
Talk to you soon!

Shockingly poor communication from this Kickstarter, I hope the product lives up to expectations, as there customer experience is very poor.
I agree with you Simon.
Im interested to see when shipping is taking place, also I believe we were told we would be contacted to update shipping addresses, this really is poor communication.... so when are these actually shipping, as we have all paid for them?
