About this project
FictionBrigade is a flash fiction online literary magazine, but we want it to become more. Our goal is publish flash fiction in formats so people can read our stories anywhere at any time. The funds provided by our generous backers will be used to both expand and keep our website running, help us form an LLC so we can grow as a company, and market our magazine and website to a wide audience.
Here's how we see it breaking down:
- 1/3 of the money goes to website developers and designers to make the site more user-friendly
- 1/3 of the money goes to forming a Limited Liability Corporation and to continue to pay for lawyers to ensure we are properly protecting the work of our writers and artists with our contracts (once published, all rights revert back to our contributors)
- 1/3 of the money goes to marketing to our target audience of writers, artists, and videographers; we want to attract more storytellers so we will have more submissions and can expand from a quarterly magazine to a monthly magazine
If you're seriously considering backing us but you'd like more detailed information about our business plan, please email info@fictionbrigade.com.
New Reward
We've updated our rewards so that anyone who backs us $25 or more will be automatically entered in a raffle to win the new Kindle. Priced at $79, the Kindle has a 6" E Ink display and built-in Wi-Fi. Once our project deadline passes, we will post a video of the raffle and announce the winner.
FAQ
-
The answer varies, depending on who you ask. According to us, flash fiction is a complete short story, with a beginning, a middle, and an end. In written form, flash fiction is 50-1500 words. Art is trickier to define, but we see flash fiction videos as under 2 minutes long.
-
The easiest way is to find our Issues page on our website (www.fictionbrigade.com). We also create pdf versions, if you prefer to print out our magazine and read the more traditional way. If you'd like a pdf version of our magazine, please email info@fictionbrigade.com.

Fiction Brigade is an online magazine that features flash fiction stories. But in the future, we hope to also be an online community for fiction lovers.
