Stealing Time is a developmental song-cycle that traces a path from marital dysfunction to personal evolution.
Imagine waking up one day to find that you are
no longer content with being comfortable in your life.
Imagine being married and getting emotionally involved with someone else.
Imagine finding love, compassion and collaboration with that someone else.
Stealing Time follows two separately married individuals whose lives collide at just the right time. From the author of Greenwood (NYMF 2011), this developmental song cycle traces the search for individual truth and the overwhelming struggle to take risks on that path. Once this truth is uncovered, a journey of self-love, compassion, and honest communication sparks difficult choices two hearts can no longer deny; accepting the risk of unconditional love or staying in the comfort of stability. Which would you choose?
Stealing Time asserts that love changes the world. It changes you and everyone around you. It’s very nature propels everything to work out the way it should.
So what do we need the funding for? Well, it's pretty simple. For this production, we have a staff consisting of director, 11 cast members, musical director, 5 musicians for the band, the NYMF participation (theater and microphone rental and additional staff for the box office, house, etc), and, most importantly, PR and marketing.
We feel the opportunity is great and intend to turn this song cycle into a full musical production. Thus, one purpose for these performances is to attract producers to commission a proper libretto (book) to wrap around the carefully constructed music score. Your donations will go a long way to helping us through that process. If all goes well, you will have been a part of a great dream we had long ago and, thankfully, have now rediscovered.
Good question. "Neubauer" is my maiden name and my pen-name as a writer. It is simpler to distinguish myself separately with the PRO (performing rights' organization) vs. me as an actor.
