Update #29: 1955 Update and Future Projects
Good evening everyone,
1955:The War of Espionage has been fully shipped to all of our supporters (with one exception who will be receiving the missing package in a few days via FedEx).
The Promotional Cards have all been shipped and everyone should have received theirs by now.
If the above items have not arrived, please message me at once so we can get it sorted.
Thank you to everyone who supported us. We recently demoed the game at BGG.Con in Dallas, Texas. 1955 was in the Top 10 most Buzzed games of the convention among the high traffic games. I'm very excited to see the game being played by people all over the planet. If you get a chance, please stop by Board Game Geek (www.boardgamegeek.com) and rate the game based on your feelings of the game. Also, feel free to ask any questions in the game's forums.
Before I bid everyone goodnight, I'd like to mention that we are working with Howard Tayler of Schlock Mercenary to produce a high quality multiplayer tactical shooter board game. The Learning Game's rules are posted on the KickStarter page. If you like Schlock Mercenary, or want a nice 2-5+ player tactical game with scenario objectives, please consider supporting our project.
Also, in the near future, we'll be releasing Data Fortress:First Strike for pre-orders. Data Fortress will be a 2 player tile game featuring tile laying and maneuvering. The game has a very strong cyberpunk / matrix theme integrated into its game play. Keep an eye out for our future projects.
I'd like to thank everyone one last time for your support. We couldn't have done it without you.
Update #28: Promo-Cards, At last!
Good news, I've located the Promo-cards. They are in the States (Indiana to be exact).
Bad news, they're being sent out Friday / Monday so won't reach me until mid of next week and then I'll ship them all out shortly after that.
Sorry for the long delay. It seems that large companies like to misplace boxes full of goodness.
Thank you all for your patience and I look forward to bringing you two more games in the near future!

Zachary,
The promo cards are separate from the expansion. Kick Starter backers get the 2 cards that are the 2011 promo cards, plus get the 2 cards that will eventually (August) be the 2012 promo cards. -

Good morning,
The cards arrived last week and they were shipped out to the USPS Sunday night.
You'll receive them in 2-4 days based on US location.International supporters will receive theirs a bit later due to the time it takes for the mail to fly around the world.

Update #27: US Orders Away
Good evening(morning?) everyone,
1955:The War of Espionage is on its way to US backers. The picture below provides a little bit of evidence (The entire truck was full of 1955, but we didn't reach the ceiling). I hope it arrives safely but if it doesn't, please let me know. Also, after you get your game and play it, please rate it on www.boardgamegeek.com. It helps tremendously.
Regarding International Orders, I've composed a short letter below:
Dear USPS (United States Postal Service),
I love you, you allow the country's small business economy to work, but there's a problem. It isn't you, it's me. Well, no, that's not the truth, it is you; you and your inability to properly run postage through your website for international orders. You create so much more work than is needed. I look forward to stopping by and seeing you in person.
Sincerely,
- Nich
Seriously, I'm having an issue with the USPS website regarding international postage and their service not recognizing my zipcode. Because of that, I'm shuttling the international orders to the post office to get the postage taken care of onsite. Due to the time it is taking to get the postage done at the actual post office, it'll be a couple of lunch breaks to get it done. My apologies for the slight bit of extra time. I hope they fix the issue before my next big shipment needs to be made.
Thank you again for all your support,
-

Update #26: Shipping Update: US Packages
We are almost done shipping!
All the boxes are packed with the games, mini-expansions, spy meeples, packing material and they are taped.
All US based shipping labels are created and are being printed tomorrow.
All US packages will be shipped out Tuesday morning (Pickup by USPS)
All International Packages are also packed and ready to go. I'm working on the shipping labels this evening / tomorrow and they should also go out Tuesday.
We also had a reporter / writer stop by for an interview while we packed. Hopefully there will be a story coming soon about Living Worlds Games, LLC.
Below are some pictures of the shipping process for your enjoyment. We took a break between packing and label creation for a game of Glory to Rome (Grab a copy via their KickStarter campaign, you will love the game play).
Thank you everyone for your support, we appreciate it and look forward to bringing you two games next year.
Update #25: Sunday is the Day
Good afternoon everyone,
On Sunday, August 14th 2011, we will finish boxing 1955 for the vast majority of our pre-orders and taking them to the post office on Monday. That means the majority of people should have their games by next weekend. Anyone who wants to order a last minute copy can still do so via www.boardgamestoday.com (They won't receive the acrylic pawns*, the mini-expansion** or the Local Mercenary Promo-Card***, but they will receive the College Activist Promo-Card featuring Aldie of BGG).
The unfortunate news is that the promo cards were sent by container ship and they won't arrive until August 22nd and then they'll be FedEx'ed to me at that point. This means that you will be receiving your game in a shipping box and will receive a follow up envelope with the promotional cards by the end of the month.
I want to get the games to everyone as quickly as possible, so I'm willing to let the manufacturer pay for the extra shipping.
As an added note, Living Worlds Games and I will be covered in a future magazine / news article so that is very exciting, but not as much as getting to see the game in everyone's hands.
Also, please check out the following link for a review of 1955 by Drive Through Review.

*Note: The acrylic Spy meeples are only for KickStarter supporters.
**Note: The mini-expansion rules and artwork will be available for download from the Geek and our website, but all of our KickStarter supporters get it included with the game fully printed.
***Note: The Local Mercenary Card is shipping to KickStarter supporters with their game. It won't be available again until next year's GenCon giving our supporters early access to the card.

Connected as Nicholas Vitek (161 friends)
I am in Quality Assurance at a Texas Oil Rig fabrication company. I am also a writer and design / publish board games (Hopefully for a living in the future).
In 2007, I started Living Worlds Games with an eye to create games, board and other, that evolve over time based on the actions of a large group of players. We are also striving to produce games that are visually appealing and feature good graphic design.
We released our first game, 1955: The War of Espionage in 2011 and our second game, Schlock Mercenary: Capital Offensive in 2012.
On a personal note, I've been gaming for over two decades now. I play everything from board games (LNOE, Dominion), RPGs (Shadowrun, Rifts), MMOs(Eve Online) to video games (Fallout 3). I decided to move into designing and publishing board games a couple of years ago due to a conversation I had on a MUSH (A text based MMO, no pictures).
Another player and I were discussing the inability of a popular RPG designer to properly balance to massive amount of product he was pushing out onto the market when my friend told me that if I felt like I could do better balancing rules and producing product, I should stop merely playing games and go out there and make one happen.
Thanks for the update. I guess I am the lonely soul that is missing his game! :)
Nope, the lonely soul seems to no longer be lonely. Your games should have arrived in August...
It'll be going out a second time.
