PURE Reflections: Beauty Reimagined is an acclaimed theatrical dance drama exploring body image, self-love and the struggle to accept both the light and dark sides of ourselves to become one integrated whole.

We want to remount the show with teens because whenever we have performed it, the recurring feedback is this show should be in high schools and universities. The incredible journey the cast goes through preparing for the show increases confidence, self-esteem and ability to work together in a team.

The funds raised will cover costumes, dance and theater training for the cast, video projection, flyers and programs.

PURE Reflections: Beauty Reimagined was conceived of in 2009 by artistic director Kaeshi Chai, and developed by the members of PURE-NYC (Public Urban Ritual Experiment), a multi-level community of dancers and musicians who strive to bring positive change to the world through ancient and modern world dance, PURE Reflections has been performed with different casts of over 25 dancers in NY, CT, Japan, Taiwan and Florida.

Rooted in Middle Eastern dance (bellydance), while taking inspiration from Modern, African, Flamenco, Butoh and other dance forms, PURE Reflections: Beauty Reimagined is visually stunning, poignantly touching, and deeply thought provoking.

Audiences have praised this show as “amazing and unique,” and raved: “I was hypnotized … and brought to a sincere enlightenment. It was beautiful, intelligently provocative ... enthralling and impressive.”
