Update #13: On The Air!
Last week, on Thursday, Jenn Sheppard and The Cull House hosted a Meet-Up with Ben and I in Sayville, NY. There were many guests there. Some were famillar with our film project, others were interested in knowing about our sailing travels, and others were there to support us as friends. All in all, everyone had a great time. The food was excellent and spirits were up. During the Meet-Up we met a woman named Habanero who then hosted us as guests on her radio show called Whatever Floats Your Boat on WUSB 90.1. The following morning, Habanero welcomed us into a small control room, its walls decorated with hundreds of stickers. Habanero, being a fellow sailor, asked a lot of great questions about our upcomming trip and the transition to sailing aboard one boat together. You can read more about it and listen to the entire talk here: http://sailingsimplicity.com/whatever-floats-your-boat/
There is only a few days left to raise the funds we need to make this film excellent. Please pass the link around to your friends and share with them the exciting news about the growth of the project, and how they can become involved.
Sincerely,
Teresa and Ben

Update #12: One Simple Question Update: Educational Outreach!
Things are rolling along quickly for One Simple Question. Just last week, we made an agreement with an educational non-profit called SEEDS, which provides after-school programming to students in 12 different schools. Part of their goal is to “help students and families begin to think locally and learn how to live a simple and healthy lifestyle – and in the end discover how rich and full that feels.” I was so excited when SEEDS contacted me to discuss a collaboration. I’ve been an educator for many years, and had been searching for such a partnership. Now we are beginning to plan the details of the educational outreach component to One Simple Question. As One Simple Question continues to expand, so do our needs. We only have a few more days for our Kickstarter fundraising campaign. We are very grateful to have reached our minimum budget goal, but our real budget is higher than that. All the money that is donated goes exclusively to equipment for the film and outreach project. Please continue to spread the word in order to help generate more support.
Update #11: Great News Today!
Great news today! Together we reached our minimum fundraising goal for moving forward with this film project. And the best part is, there is still eight days left to build more support for the film!
This evening I taught Benji to sew. He is trying to repair his sail cover and concentrating very hard on keeping a straight line.
Have a good night! Thanks for being a part of this.
Sincerely,
Teresa

Benji, I can send you a simple pattern for a shirt, unless you prefer to sew in the nude. Ha ha!

Teresa/Ben,
I see that you have not announced your decision on who will be the captain of the
boat. I think your story has more appeal/interest if female/Teresa is chosen
captain. Breaking the sexist assumption of the male/Ben being captain will
generate more interest in your adventure. Don't take the easy way out and choose
"co-captains", choose either Ben or Teresa (not the cat) -

Thanks Marv! More to come on this topic. We are still discussing it.
