Hello Dave: Thank you for this update. I am happy things are moving along for you with your GROUP documentary film project. I am delighted to be one of a sizeable cadre of people that feels good about supporting you as you move over and beyond hurdles for this and other projects that may arise in the future.
I am here in Sydney Australia, traveling here 2 ½ weeks ago to function as a teaching assistant in yet another certification training program in Somatic Sex Education held at Gunnebah Retreat in Murwullimbah, north of here. I will return to Los Angeles this afternoon.
I visited Robert Kirby twice, and just finished a body reading session with him that was great. He has invited me to return to his retreats and workshops here in Sydney as a teaching assistant, and I’m honored at such an invitation. He also invited me to provide a video testimony for his website, and I was happy to do so. He was very happy to hear your project is moving along well, and sends all his best wishes to you. Your testimony still appears on his website.
All the best to you and your continued success with this and other projects that attest to your remarkable and gifted creativity and talent, Paul M. Allen, M.D., M.H.A., M.P.H., F.A.C.O.G.

These preview videos are only the tip of the iceberg from 5 days of intense all-day workshops at a mountain top retreat. When the project is funded there will be so much more to come! I was there, and still shed tears as I see once again the story of Three Sisters or Yvonne--such amazing honesty and courage to share with the world! Dave's commitment to this work and getting this project to the world is nothing short of astounding and deserving of your support!

Truth may cause worthy discomfort. That's what should precede these amazing videos. Without people brave enough to really get down to what's ACTUALLY going in their own heart- as individuals- we have zero chance to find peace as a collective. This series would break all barriers, barriers that are BEGGING to be broken (Wisconsin, Middle East, France). We have not the time to be polite and demure. We would all look better, feel better, live longer and laugh more if we had support to pull out what weighs on our heart. It's about calling 'bullshit' on ourselves and on the repetitive silliness of those around us. Dr. Phil, Oprah and all the reality shows need to see this series.

Let's get to it and make this happen. It's time to fly.

My name is Jenny and I was one of the participants in the GROUP project. I would like to tell you a little bit more about myself and this project from an insiders perspective.

I think a misconception that many people have about this project is that it is fake or scripted in some way. I cannot emphasize enough that it was not. Everything that you will see is what genuinely and spontaneously happened in the moment, as a result of us working together. While some of the participants are actors in their life outside of the group, no one was acting or being paid to participate or behave in a certain way. All twenty of us are regular people who committed to genuinely grappling with anything and everything that came up in our circle, with cameras present, for a wider audience sharing in our process to see that it is possible to find more honest ways of relating to one another.

Another comment that I get is that it looks like one huge crying fest. Yes, we cried. A lot. But that is not all that happened. The work is not only about pain or anger or sadness. It’s about feeling the emotions that come up fully and completely in order to discover what they are protecting you from. You’ll discover as you watch the videos unfold that every piece of work ultimately ends with joy and pleasure. And it is beautiful.

As you watch the videos, you might be put off by the yelling, the hitting, the crying, the screaming. It’s pretty intense and can be hard to watch. You might want to laugh at what’s going on, feel uncomfortable or have judgements about what you are seeing. That is a normal reaction. Do it. Feel everything that comes up for you, but I would encourage you to stay with it because what unfolds is so wonderfully human. It’s about people who want to live fuller, more authentic lives. It’s about a diverse group of people who are fighting to be honest with themselves and with each other. It’s about joy and sadness, pleasure and pain, fear, humiliation, courage, standing up for what you believe in and wanting to relate to other people from a place of honesty, compassion, integrity and love.

I also want to acknowledge that this retreat was filmed over 2 years ago. All of us a very different people since we shared this time together. Some of that is because of the transformational nature of this work, some of it is because that’s just the nature of life. I know I am very nervous about people seeing this past version of myself and I can imagine that others are feeling that same fear as well. I think we all agreed to be filmed for this project because in some way each of us believed that there was something important about the work that needs to be seen by more people. That conviction allowed me to share what I did in the group and also helps to ground some of the fear I have about our week together going out into the public domain.

In order for the project to be seen we need your help. I hope that you will consider donating money to help the fundraising effort. Even a donation of just $1 would help out a great deal. Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing fundraising system and most of the projects that reach their goal are because they have lots of people donating small amounts of money. I believe in the power of this project to reach people in a very profound way. I know I am changed because of the group and I hope you will be too.
