Celebrating 15%
Hello Kickstarter friends!
Today we hit the 15% mark after only 2.5 days. I'll be honest, every time I get an email telling me we have a new backer, I do a little happy dance. It doesn't matter how much you've pledged, just seeing that another person believes in us enough to pledge makes me happy.
I had a great question from a backer about the materials used to make the clothing. I've updated our project description to include that information. We used 100% cotton knit to make the samples, and we're trying to find an affordable source of U.S. made 100% cotton knit for rewards and production.
You know what else makes me happy? Kickstarter gives us a report of where our backers are coming from. Only about 10% are coming from Kickstarter in general. 90% of you came here just for us. That's amazing, and awesome, and so, so humbling.

Hi Elaine,
Thanks for the feedback. I've had several questions about the wonderful moisture wicking fabrics that are on the market. We ran into two problems in our research phase: 1) We were unable to locate a local retail source for the fabric to make our samples out of and 2) the online sources we were able to find would have made the samples, and the eventual product, too expensive.
We're doing our best to balance great quality fabrics with an affordable price. For now, we really wanted to start out with a product that will be priced so that it's broadly affordable. As we continue to grow and expand, we'll offer products in those amazing athletic fabrics. I wear this stuff on my walks, and find that for low to moderate intensity work outs of about an hour, they're very comfortable. I haven't personally tested them in a high intensity work out yet (it's not really my "thing") but I'll see what I can come up with.

Hi Rene, Glad to contribute! Plus size athletic apparel is a desperately underserved market, as you well know. Any chance that you will be able to offer the athletic wear using moisture wicking athletic fabric? I tend to perspire quite a bit during exercise, so moisture wicking fabric works great for me. I'm one of the 10-percenters, I grin, and I'm really happy that I found your project! I have no doubt that you'll hit your goal, and I can't wait to see the finished product. One of my favorite things about Kickstarter is that it allows innovators to have a viable chance to become successful without needing bank funding - and it makes me really stoked to be able to contribute.
