Astrograss, a bluegrass band from Brooklyn, NY is recording its 2nd CD of family music and needs your help!
Astrograss is going into the studio this spring to record its 2nd full-length CD of bluegrass music for kids of all ages.
Bluegrass music for kids? Yes. Don't worry. We don't sing murder ballads or heartbreak songs to the kids. We have a great repertoire of traditional American folk songs, old-time fiddle hoedowns, original songs featuring quirky topics such as world geography, and even songs we've written using our little fans' poetry as lyrics. We've been playing family shows all over the country since 2005, and released our 1st full-length CD of kids music in 2008. Since then we have written lots of new songs, acquired new band members, and performed in many schools, parks, and theaters. Now it's time to record a new CD!
We have great engineers waiting to make the recordings sound as beautiful as possible. We just need your help in making this happen!
We are raising the money needed to pay for the studio time, engineers, printing costs and a big publicity campaign to bring the music to all corners of this great country. In exchange for your generosity, we have a wide range of ways to say thank you, including signed Astrograss CD's and posters, private lessons with Astrograss band members, a private performance by Astrograss at a location of your choice, and even a song written by Astrograss using your child or grandchild's poetry as lyrics.
We are really excited to make this album and hope to have it in your hands by late summer 2012, with a CD Release Party in September.
