About this project
The Los Angeles United Film Festival, screening cutting-edge, independent films & highly acclaimed classic movies with the audience in mind, is pleased to be returning for its fifth year at the historic Los Feliz 3 Cinemas & The Vista Theatre from April 28th - May 5th.
The United Film Festivals are a young, dynamic series of festivals promoting truly independent artists through six events in different cities throughout the year. Every festival has a unique lineup geared towards the communities in each city and we work hard to constantly grow and connect with our network of filmmakers and film lovers.
A Tulsa native filmmaker, Jason Connell and his production company Connell Creations founded Tulsa United Film Festival nine years ago, expanding to include Los Angeles & New York in 2007 and San Francisco, Chicago & London in 2009.
We have a very grassroots approach and have grown mostly through word of mouth. Although we have an extensive network of partners and sponsors, at this point they are only in-kind sponsors, which leaves funding solely on us.
Your contribution will help us cover a portion of the following items:
- Venue
- Equipment Rental
- Prizes
- Awards
- Festival/Promotional Materials (Posters, Flyers, Programs, Badges, Audience Award Ballots & more)
Our festival is always growing, and in 2011 we added even more prizes for student filmmakers and our first annual Screenwriting Contest. These additions have been great ways to continue connecting with and expanding our network, but have also created extra costs.
Due to the time constraints and the festival fast approaching, we are only asking for what we feel is a realistic funding goal. Hopefully we exceed this and are able to give Rewards to as many excited Backers as possible.

Contact us at info@theunitedfest.com to make sure you are on the guest list for any All Access Passes or tickets to screenings. Due to the fact that our festival is approaching so quickly, you may reserve complimentary tickets prior to our project receiving full funding. Your tickets will be reserved unless we do not reach our funding, in which case they will be canceled and you will not have to take any action.

Please keep in mind that some screenings may sell out and so you are highly encouraged to reserve your tickets in advance via e-mail.

United Films is our company's distribution division. Many of the films now being distributed were Official Selections at the United Film Festivals and some are screening at this year's Los Angeles United Film Festival.
