Update #9: Prints will ship today!
My wife will be dropping the prints off at the post office this morning! The prints are rolled in acid free archival paper along with the certificate of authenticity then packed in sturdy mailing tubes. Hopefully they will be up to the rigors of the USPS...
I thank you all again for the support and encoragement you have provided during the project. I've had a blast, learned a lot, and thouroughly enjoyed the entire experience.
Please drop me a note when you print arrives and let me know what you think. I'm really looking forward to your comments. I'm also curious how long it will really take for the prints to reach Taiwan and the United kingdom.

Update #8: Printing is underway!
The project print, Bald Eagle I, is currently printing! The quality on the Velvet Fine Art paper is nothing short of incredible. I couldn't be happier with the results.
This project has been an absolute blast so far. The prints need to dry for about a day then they will be rolled, inserted into mailing tubes, and mailed out. A huge THANK YOU to all my backers.

Update #7: Backer Map
I had a few spare minutes at work (shh, don't tell anyone ;-) so I created a quick google map of the backers for my project. Enjoy!
Update #6: Thank you backers!
Update #5: First large print!
Other commitments were finally satisfied and I was able to load the ink cartridges, charge the print head, and print my first large format picture. In a word, it was amazing! Without any tweaking, straight out of the box, default profile for the paper (Epson Ultra Premium Luster Photo), the results are on par with the photo printing service I’ve been using. It took about 10 minutes to print a 16*20 photo. I am just blown away; I can’t wait to see what it is capable of with some time and effort devoted to optimization.

I consider myself to be a modern day renaissance man. I have a huge number of hobbies and interests, most of which are very technical in nature. Obviously CNC machining is a serious pursuit but the list also includes: photography, radio control models, woodworking, welding, fabrication, foundry, blacksmithing, maille. I love to learn and try new things. I also enjoy personal fitness, racquetball, bicycling, and hiking.
Received my print today in NH. Look great on first purusal, but with family around I haven't had the opportunity to look at it closely. I'm sure it is fine and will have the chance to admire it eventually.
Thanks and best wished.
