About this project
There is a lot going on this year in my world and I've become very excited about what's coming. But in order to achieve these goals, I cannot afford to do it all out of pocket. My biggest problem is that I have not had a proper sketchbook for the Conventions I am featured at in almost 2 years.
Sketchbooks are great to get your art inexpensively to your fans and a fantastic way to introduce new ones to what you do. Usually, I produce one I put together myself, but with only so much time in a day and with everything going on, I need help... your help.
The sketchbook, "Sketches²" is something I'm very excited about. I love what I've put into it and I want more people to see it. I'm also incorporating a print project into this as I'll be offering an print at Conventions in celebration of this project and it will feature brand new art that will give people an idea of where I'm heading in the near future.
I will be providing a series of "Pledge" rewards for everyone who pledges towards the project. I have less then a month to put together the funds for this project and I'm hopeful I will reach that modest goal of $6500.

Born in Philadelphia on April 5th, 1972, Tom Hodges has been drawing as long as he can remember… but his specific memories about doing it come from Memorial Day weekend 1977.
Star Wars being his main influence as a child, growing up they developed into Comic Greats such as Frank Miller, Jim Lee , Adam Hughes and Mark Texeira.
After a short break after High School, Tom attended the Art Institute of Philadelphia, majoring in Computer/Traditional Animation. Where his influences such as Walt Disney, Chuck Jones and Bruce Timm worked their way into his work. After, he went West to San Francisco and took Film Classes.
In 2003, Tom was approached by Lucasfilm to produce an online “Web Strip” for starwars.com that would help bridge the gap of the events of the upcoming “Clone Wars” Animated micro-series and “Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith”. The strip debuted in conjunction with the start of the Animated series in the Fall of 2004 and ran through the release of “Sith”. Two sequel strips were produced in 2006 and 2007.
Since Season One of the current “Clone Wars” series on Cartoon Network, Tom has been the Lead Artist on web comic for starwars.com that is now in it’s third season. Season One ran storylines leading into each episode of the TV series. Season Two gave fans a story that occurred parallel to the storyline on the show and features characters co-created by Tom and writer Pablo Hidalgo. The Season Three comic is also Tom's first Star Wars writing credit.
Season Three continues the Adventures of those original characters with the added bonus of using Fan favorites as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka Tano. During this years hiatus, Tom will be providing the art for Jane Wiedlin's "Lady Robotika" and finally getting his "m" project off the ground (published by Red 5 Comics) and bringing back "MIDKNIGHT".
Tom enjoys being able to spend his day working on the characters he’s been drawing since he was a child. He currently resides in California with his wife Terri and their several Furry Children.
