Our mother Earth is the mother of all fertility. It has proven us time over time it's power and beauty and indeterminate will to overcome even the most dangerous elements, us. This installation is a tribute to Earth's energy and all it's grandiose. In order to grasp this emanating energy we choose to express the metaphor of crystal formations arranged in a central pattern of growth. We call this installation "Crystalline Centrum." The crystal is symbol of energy and purity it is also the strongest material on earth and yet it is still brittle when stricken.
"Crystalline Centrum" is an interactive installation composed of 9 major extrusions arranged around a center space. Each extrusion is segmented in 8 increments that slowly diminish in size and direction. The installation is shaped and arranged in a cluster formation simulating a crystal cluster growth.
The main idea behind it is to have the participant approach and enter its center and experience the power of the crystal formations, symbol of Mother Earth's capacity to create energy and life. From the distance, the installation carries a strong geometrical formation presence. Random idle lights throughout the installation arise curiosity. When the participants enter the center of the installation, it responds with a light and trigger sound. There are also several sensors that further instigate user interaction
