About this project

Who doesn't love Paper Dolls! Alrighty, then who doesn't love start-ups?? Especially, start-ups headed by spunky young gals with an itch to draw combined with a yearnin' fer some learnin'!

MyMoodDoll = the new Bratz (or "Barbie" if you're "of a certain age"...)

That's right folks, the paper doll is making a comeback and our gal, DakootScoot, is putting her own particular spin on these pulp wonders by giving them the ability to mirror your innermost thoughts!

"Betsy McCall", who? Please. Your mama wishes she had these to play with when she was just a scrap -- MyMoodDolls are here and they're the new Black!

We (DakootScoot and her mom) are creating a line of paperdolls that we hope will redefine the phrase "cheap plaything" while also helping to grow Baby Girl's college fund!

Our dolls, MyMoodDolls, are paper people that come in a range of "realistic" skin tones, feature changing and changeable expressions (all hand-drawn by Mizz Scoot B-B) and which sport a fabulous wardrobe of inspired clothing choices. Additionally, these fabulous folks come packaged in a delightful trousseau and will also ship with a complimentary sticker and/or temporary tattoo, so you, (or your little one) can match your doll.

Initially, MyMoodDolls will be available through the Etsy on-line store (information regarding "bulk sales", company history and showcasing more of Dakota's work will also be available online at www.mymooddoll.com circa July of this year) and will retail for appx. 12.00 each (this price includes one doll, three outfits and an "expression pack" containing 6 expressions and two hairstyles.) Additional expression packs can also be purchased separately. As the line develops we hope to place the dolls in upscale cardshops and niche (by which we mean "ethnic") toy stores. We're also trying to get them featured in holiday gift guides.

Once the base doll line is well-established, future plans include adding a little sister and a little brother, as well as introducing limited edition dolls sets (e.g. MyGothMood, MyPirateMood etc.)

All net proceeds from the sales of the dolls will go into a "college" fund for DakootScoot that she can access when she's 18 (We'll figure out a different business for the other kid once she hits puberty...)

I'm a mom who does web stuff and my incredibly talented 12 year old draws things. Seriously, she's really, really good. Check out our website circa July 2010 to see some examples of her comic drawings and character studies and, oh yeah, support us NOW in our desire to make quality paperdolls available for every single man, woman and child on the planet!
