Vancouvria is what Portlandia would be if it was filmed in Portland's northern suburb, Vancouver, Washington.

Vancouvria is what Portlandia would be if it was shot in the suburbs - specifically Portland's northern suburb of Vancouver, Washington. 

We've produced 5 successful episodes so far that are enjoyed by an audience on both sides of the Columbia River and both ends of the political spectrum.  Vancouvria is the opposite of Portlandia.  If Portlanders scream for bicycle rights, then Vancouvrians scream for SUV rights.  If Portlanders ask if their food is local, then Vancouvrians make sure it's genetically modified to give them the biggest piece of meat at the lowest price.  Vancouvrians want their groceries bagged in plastic.  Portlanders cringe at the thought.

Just as Portlandia takes Portland stereotypes to the extreme, Vancouvria stretches suburban and Vancouver stereotypes beyond the reasonable.

When we filmed episode one, we never imagined how popular this show would become.  In order to meet demand, we've been scrambling to produce episodes throughout the winter.  Successfully funding this Kickstarter campaign will help us shoot the Season 1 Finale, and use the summer and fall to produce Season 2. 

What will we do with your contributions?  We're a pretty efficient crew - we need to be as I've been the sole source of funds for 5 episodes.  We're gonna stay lean, but here's where your money will go:

  • Equipment rental or purchase
  • Batteries / Makeup / Gas, etc.
  • Props / Locations
  • Renting Expensive Props like $50,000 SUV's.  Ouch!
  • Feeding the cast and crew.  Starving artists are really hungry!

We are really enjoying producing this show and want to continue - there's an unlimited amount of material (eg. recycling help, visiting a corporate bookstore, closet liberals, etc.)  We hope that you'll support us with a financial contribution, and if that's not possible, share our campaign on Facebook or Twitter.  Lots of small contributions will make this happen.
