Hey Nick: Ditto what Bryan and Rebekah said below. I'm sure the project will be beautiful when it's all done, but sometimes these things take longer than we anticipated. Also, the woodcut looks lovely, but no rush in getting the print to me, at least. That's not why I ponied up. :)

Hello Nick - I myself have bit off more than I can chew from time to time. As with anything where people are concern I believe communication is critical. I was delighted to see your email today and can only imagine the pain it took to compose. However, I think you will find most people to be reasonable and accepting. Honestly I did not contribute because I was going to get something - it was because I saw the passion and beauty in what you were doing. The true tragedy would be for you to loose faith. So keep up the good work, the communication flowing and I look forward to your next work. cheers, bryan
PS - please let me know how I can see what you have completed - the carving rocks!

Thanks for the update, Nick (friend of Emily's here). The woodcut is gorgeous in your photo. I appreciate (a) your commitment to excellence, (b) your willingness to tell the ugly truth. Hang in there with the project, your work is beautiful and worth it. You asked for feedback on why you raised so much so quickly? Because your video was thorough and authentic, and your work stunning.

Is there any news? Its been ages since we heard anything.
Creator Jon_Kaio on August 9, 2011
How is this going, some kind of update may be nice.

Nick, your letter was touching and inspiring and and kind. It not only feels wonderful to help a friend on his particular project, it is also a thrill to be a part of something that is expanding and evolving, and reaching the lives of so many people I've never met. Talk about community! Thank you for this glorious opportunity...

Sure, Melanie, you're welcome to post my words. I'd be honored!

Nick, I loved your latest project update! Did you happen to read this: http://myc.posterous.com/artists-dream-chasers-wanted-the-ten-dolla-tr
It's a blog post I wrote when I was similarly inspired by the process of giving and receiving support for my own and other people's dreams and projects. Your latest update reminded me of it.
Would you mind if I posted your update to my blog? I have a feeling there is a new movement afoot, but it will take people like you, me and all our amazing supporters to spread the word that WE, as artists, have the power to support each other (and by default ourselves)! Xoxox

Perfect! I've backed and will look forward to my puppet (does it have a Jonah, too?). Best wishes!
Creator Nick Trotter on January 26, 2011
Arcady,
The body of the puppet is approximately 24 inches long, and 16 inches high. The stick, which is removable and/or replaceable, is about 24 inches as well.
Creator arcady on January 26, 2011
Maybe a silly question, but how large is the 'handmade replica of the Great Fish puppet"?
Thanks!
