Update #30: Taking Orders from our Website!

Posted on March 23

In case you guys were interested in buying more Miskatonic goodness, or you or a friend missed out on the Kickstarter project, we've started taking orders for the game at our Fun to 11 website!

Unfortunatly all my worries was justified.
The pacakge has been on my local postoffice for 2 weeks, but is now flagged as "not picked up, return to sender" becaue I have never been notified of it's arriaval.
And since the postal system is so damn rigid I cannot do anything to stop it.
It has to go all the way back.

I lost at least 5 sanity points by thinkig of it.

And after some more talking, I actually got it out after all.
I regained my sanity, and skilled up in conversation skill.
Now I look forward to try it out :)

Update #29: Quick update and PAX

Posted on March 17

Hey folks,

We just got flew back from GAMA (and boy are my tentacle wings tired). It was a fun show, and I was really surprised by the fact that we hit #1 on the Board Game Geek hotlist! Totally cool. We found a lot of emails waiting for us when we got back - these will take a couple of days for sure. Dave should be hitting the shipping skids this week as well for the overseas orders.

We've got some really nice emails from players who have been enjoying the game - these are just about the greatest emails ever to read. We particularly appreciate those who tweet and Facebook about the game, as eventually the game will be available in game stores.

I keep reminding the guys that Fun to 11 is not a traditional "game company" - instead, we are just folks who want to put games we like out in the hands of players who will like them. As such, don't expect to see a bunch of ads in gaming magazines or a demo squad from fun to 11 anytime soon! Our games need to stand on their own.

We've carved out one exception to this rule and that is PAX. The great folks at Kickstarter asked us to give a presentation at the show about our experience and to give advice to others who want to do the same thing. Without Kickstarter, we'd never have been able to make this game (cough, or any others we might be planning, double cough...), so we agreed to go to PAX. We got a small booth there and will be giving a talk on Sunday if anyone wants to see behind the curtain. We'll have copies of the game to sell (of course, you all already have yours!), but if you're at the show, please stop by and say hi! I'm hoping to get any backers who stop by to sign my copy.

Thanks again everyone!

Luke

Will us Canadians be receiving my USPS or UPS? I ask because USPS delivers through Canada post and if I'm not home I can do same day pick up five minutes from my home. UPS on the other hand will charge me an extra ten dollars for accepting the package (on top of whatever they charged you to send it) and if I'm not home on the three consecutive days they try to deliver it, then I have to travel for an hour and a half to go pick it up, and then another hour and a half to get back home again.

Are all the boxes on their way?
Can't wait to receive mine. :-)

Update #28: LTP video up... Warning

Posted on March 9

Warning - it features me.

Heloooooooooo

Ugh...

Rob and I filmed a video showing the key elements of how to play the game, so no need to read the rules (mostly I'm guessing). Either way, hope it's helpful!

I have never been so excited to receive insanity by mail. Got my copy...played it and was driven insane by my wife. Great work.

Got my copies yesterday, I've never heard my daughter giggle as much as she did when she was opening the box. We love it!

Played twice over the weekend. First time in a 2-player game, second in a 4-player. Both games were very close down to the end, which showed strong balance. Complaints were that the deck building is a little too random, and the girls are wearing too many clothes (er.... I play with perverts! Also, we're used to playing Tanto Cuore, so there's that).

We also misread the rules for Locker items on one turn, applying the nightmare/friendship production values from the top right corner of the card. But we looked it up and played correctly from then on. I'll be adding a note to my rules booklet so we don't make the same mistake again later.

Update #27: The Day! (Domestic at least)

Posted on March 5

Small change of plans here. We were going to do some local pick-ups and what nots, but Dave and Kai kicked total ox-of-butt and got everything ready to ship in record time. Rather than have our pick-up guests get their product later than everyone else, we just shipped out everything to all Domestic addresses!

I shipped out the prints today as well (different package from the East Coast).

International packages are begin a bit stubborn, but we're trying to get them out this week as well.

There are a few loose ends (there always seem to be..). I still need to get the original art figured out with those backers and a bit of survey oddity to clean up (if you never filled it out, do so or we can't get you your product!). We also want to get a LTP video up on site quickly to help out cause reading rules stinks. But all-in-all, we're super happy with how smooth this has gone. We're actually shipping weeks early?!?! that NEVER happens! (at least not to us...). I think it's the good luck of the Brewery.

Thank you all for taking this journey with us. It's been a total blast and we literally could not have done it without your support.

Luke, Jay, Dave, Kai, and Rob.
