Every day, we all get hundreds of emails, texts, status updates, tweets, etc. But how often do you get something cool in the mail? You know, something other than bills and catalogs? We're willing to bet it's not often enough. And we think that's just wrong.

Hi, we're Elizabeth and Matthew and we make sweet stuff.  

We began SWEET letterpress & design with a mission to help preserve thoughtful communication and have been making letterpress invitations, greeting & note cards and gifts ever since. Our paper goods are carefully crafted in Boulder, Colorado using only high quality, eco friendly materials.

Letterpress is a relief printing technique in which a raised plate is inked and pressed into paper for a tactile and beautiful result. Our products are printed on a hand-fed, 120 year old press; we feed every piece of paper through the press one at a time for each color applied.  The care and craft of letterpress printing yield an unmatched quality that people never fail to notice.

After 5 years of providing custom design and printing to a largely local customer base, we feel it's time to target a national audience, increase our efficiency and expand our offerings. 

So we're here on Kickstarter to launch a new line of wedding invitations. This collection, premiering in Spring 2013, will be our most comprehensive yet – offering a wide array of stylish and beautiful designs. Your contributions will enable us to launch this line in the most thorough, thoughtful way and carry on filling mailboxes with pretty paper things.

Here's what we plan to do:

1. Design
Creating this collection will require a large investment of time and creative energy. The process includes research, illustration, font and color selection, critiquing prototypes, revisions, etc. Additionally, we'll need to design and print extensive samples and promotional materials to support the launch.

2. Equipment Upgrade
A while back, we acquired a 1950s Heidelberg Windmill letterpress that we have not yet learned to use. This is an auto-feed press capable of operating at very high speeds with superior precision. With the increased volume that we expect this product launch to generate, we feel it's the perfect time to tackle this project which will require an investment in parts, supplies and education.

3. Website Overhaul
In order to make our products easily accessible on a national scale, we will need to upgrade our online store. We will work closely with a talented web developer to improve search engine optimization, streamline ordering and make the site more user-friendly.

Your support will help keep meaningful correspondence alive and in exchange for your contributions, we've come up with some fabulous rewards (in addition to our undying love and gratitude). All of these items have been lovingly crafted and carefully selected by us. Keep them for yourself or give them as holiday gifts. All rewards will ship in time for Christmas (custom products excluded).
