What a Difference A Day Makes!
Thank you to all of our generous backers... today this KICKSTARTER project was fully funded! Another milestone occurred today with the commencement of construction!! Logan CDC has a lot to celebrate, so share in this moment with us.
Despite the monsoon rains in Philadelphia today, the guys from Point B Design soldiered through, installing and assembling the base of the parklet and some of the seating. We are already generating a lot of buzz in the community as people stopped to gawk and inquire about what we were up to on the street. Movie Night this Friday is going to be an event. For those backers in the Philly area, come out for HUGO (PG) at 6:30 Friday evening at 1333 Wagner and see the final product!
For the design aficionados, check out the detailing and construction techniques of the cedar decking and seating. Our staff is already impressed and falling in love with the smooth finish. We cannot wait for lunchtime next week. Hope you can stop by and join us!
Debarking of the Logan Parklet Has Begun!
We've begun debarking the tree stumps that will soon become the seats on the new Logan Parklet! With crowbars, chisels and hammers in hand, the outer bark is being removed from the stumps and the stumps are then sanded down to a smooth finish. Point B will be finishing them off with an epoxy coating later on this week.
Thanks again to all of our supporters so far! We will keep you updated as the construction continues.
