OUR NIXON in the Wall Street Journal & other New Year's updates

Today, the Wall Street Journal featured a great story on OUR NIXON, with a picture of us working in the editing room. If you are not a WSJ subscriber, here is a PDF version.
At this time last year, we had just returned from a few weeks in residence at Yaddo with a plan to make our first feature documentary out of these crazy Super 8 home movies we had found. After our Kickstarter campaign ended in May, we began to build our team: we brought in two amazing Executive Producers (Dan Cogan and Jenny Raskin) and an equally amazing editor (Francisco Bello). We pitched OUR NIXON to dozens of industry reps at IFP's Independent Film Week (Penny blogged about that experience here). We got some great shout-outs from bloggers and critics and were commissioned to make a short film for the New York Times. Through all this, the edit continued to inch along...
Our Kickstarter campaign got us off the ground and gave us confidence there was an audience for OUR NIXON. But it was the major support we later received – from Cinereach, Tribeca Film Institute's TFI Documentary Fund, Jerome Foundation and New York State Council on the Arts – that will allow us to make OUR NIXON not just a good film, but a great one. Thank you again to all of our backers, from those of you who pledged $1.00 on Kickstarter to our Associate Producers. For real: thank you. We continue to be honored and humbled. Hooray!
We hope you are all happy and well, and we are so excited to share this film with you. We wish that we could predict when exactly that will be, but if there's one thing we've learned making our first feature doc... or, okay two things: one, everything takes longer than you expect; and two, it's much more important to make a great film than a fast one.
