How would I go about securing a copy of this? I'm a $1 backer right now because at the time I didn't have much money. I'm president of the Gaming Club at my school and I think this game would make an excellent addition to our library! WE don't have much money but I believe I can scrounge together enough to buy a copy of the game.
We've got a steady hand on the wheel now. We're finishing up the last bits of artwork, and should be getting these games shipped out around May (I'm really hesitant to say April after getting smacked around by delay gremlins, so I'm sticking with May).
In a comment on the last update (January) you said you were still on track for a March/April release...is that still the case? Haven't heard anything in a while... Hope all is ok :-)
How is everything going along?
The card previews are really great. Thanks. I'm stoked about the game.
We had been holding off on making this a public post, as at least two of the cameos were going to be surprise gifts. I'll check with the "crew" and see if it's OK to let people know. Crew, expect an email from me in the next couple days.
Would it be possible to get a list of the cameos and what crewmember they represent as a backer-only post?
That's what I get for building templates at 3 am. Oddly enough, I spelled peek fine only a minute earlier in the headline. But trust me, the peak of awesome sneak peeks is a ways away.
Just make sure you run a spell and grammar check first and have someone look over the components very carefully; your last update said "...might like a peak..." rather than "...might like a peek...".
Although my interest is "peaking".
;^)
Seriously, appreciate the updates. All of the components you've shown us so far look great..
Really, REALLY looking forward to the product launch.
Congratulations on making it this far!
this is going to be a busy, busy month for us. I just got a look at Yuko's pencils for the Mermaid, and it's fascinating and awesome what she did with that. Also, I'll start putting more art updates on in a bit. Last month was mostly contract negotiations and logistics, but as of today they're all finished. I did find out the first shipment of the game will weigh 4,839 pounds, and fill up a 10x10 room. Which means I now need to find a 10x10 room.

Any updates to share?
@Rhonda got your request.
So far, everyone has been extremely prompt in responding to the Crew Cameo requests. The main delay has been that I've had to juggle a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff in working with the printer and getting O rolling on the art. But we're getting them done soon!
Hi, Darren,
Please let me know if you received my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, choice for crew. I'm not sure where my last response went and I don't want to hold up the rest of the project. Is there a way to know if you are getting these responses?
Best regards,
Rhonda
Something that I didn't know about kickstarter until I got to it was that the surveys can only be sent out once. So in my plan-everything way of doing things, I opted to take an extra week to make sure we get all the questions we need for the surveys. They should be sent out by Thursday morning at the latest.
@ Brendan, Good so it's not just me then! I was worried I'd missed it so came here to see if anything had been said about it.
Have the surveys been sent already? I've been checking like mad, just want to make sure I didn't miss it.
@james we'll keep the timeline as updated as possible, but right now we're looking at getting the game sent to the printers on Jan. 1, and having it ready to ship in May of 2012.
Congratulations, I'm really looking forward to this.
Saw this advertised at Dragon Con. Awesome idea! Looking forward to my copy.
Poor O, now he has to get cracking on the artwork and get this thing in production and shipped. When did you say that would be?
Congratulations on reaching your goal! Enjoy the rest of Dragon*Con!
London you say? I am living in Finland.. Depending on the place and actual time in May, and which show/convention its about.. I could just come in and pick up the box personally from London. :P
Congrats on 100% Excited to see this idea realized. ARGGGGGH!
Awesome! 100%! Congrats O and Dern.
May 2012 doesn't actually bring O "in", but it does put me and him into the same country. We should be doing a show together in London.
What's going down in May 2012 that brings O in again?
Hell yeah! Was hoping this would hit its goal. I seriously want to play the game.
Awesome. Was getting worried with 1 week to go and almost $10000 short but people came through in a big way.
Really looking forward to playing the finished product.
Congratulations on your research, creativity, and 100% funding! I love being part of this rowdy crew.
Bring'er alongside!
Congrats! and thanks all, can't wait to see the final product!
woot
Only $429 to go..... :)
You had me at stabbing :)
Go Dern! :)

Thats absolutely fine with me. :)
After Dragon*Con, the next time O and I are in the same city will be late May, 2012. If that's OK with you, just send us a message and we'll hold your pledge reward until then.
Hey.. If I can get O's signature as well, and some lazy 2 am doodle from some convention, I can wait 4 months easy. I've got my hands full with my current boardgames anyway. :P
That's not a bad idea. I'll put out a survey post-completion, and if anyone wants me to sign their box, I'll make it happen. It'll involve breaking the plastic wrap off of it (but I can reseal that). However, I can't really offer to sign the rulebook, as it'll be tightly packed inside with the cards and tokens, and I really, really don't want those getting loose on an international shipment. Also, I can't promise a signature from O, as it would add about four months of delays to get him up from Colombia and in the same room with the games.
Oh wait.. I pledged 85 with the 75 dollar package.. But according to the FAQ, i could've gotten the postage included? As it is over the 50 dollar package..
Ah well, not going to change it. But could I get an autographed box in this case? And the manual? Pretty please? That ought to be worth the 10 dollars extra atleast.. :D
We'll be releasing the rule book as a backer-only update this week, and we should be getting pictures of the prototype board up as well.
I like the idea but I alsothink that knowing more about the gameplay could help for having more backers. Plus, I am curious ;).
And, also, please add some ninjas (for O's sake)
Sounds like a fun, casual game. Look forward to seeing it to completion.
If you have the inclination and time it would be cool to see an example of actual gameplay with a prototype board.
