Trust Your Struggle (TYS) is an artist collective of visual artists, educators, and cultural workers dedicated to social justice and community activism through the medium of art. Our work includes but is not limited to graphic design, printmaking, silk screening, photography, illustration, graffiti writing, and mural painting. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City we have produced gallery installations, live paintings, murals and arts education workshops with youth and community organizations since 2003. Our art continues the legacy of visual language, as we are contemporary storytellers influenced by graffiti art, comic books, political posters, religious spiritual icons, and our own indigenous traditions.
Hey guys,
After we met at the Trinity International Hip Hop Festival in 2008, I remember coming home and telling my wife about your story. She was inspired by you guys and even used "Trust Your Struggle" as inspiration for her own goals and purpose in life. She passed away a year ago this week, but when I get the emails from you guys I remember how she felt. Good luck in the Phillipines. World Hip Hop Market supports you!
Try to address the patriarchy & machismo that exists in the Phillipines...add lots of strong women. Very proud!
Hi,
Have you sent Press Releases to all the major and community publications/TV stations/radio and I'm sure it's onF acebook/Twitter and the like already; what about TV stations in the SF Bay Area, CNN, NBC and the rest for media pick-up?. I have sent your email through Kristia's request to about 200+ of my email connections, mostly Pinoys. Spread the word, I'm sure you will get more. GOOD LUCK! HCW
Can you give my pins to a kid on the street in Manila? High preference to street children from Barrio Kapitolyo, Pasig City. Thank you. :) - Kristia
