About this project

Off Speed Cinema is an independent comedy venture seeking to create unique and off-beat comedy shorts intended to be a "change-up" from conventional entertainment.  Several of my shorts have shown at film festivals, on my website, & youtube.

My project will involve two new original short comedy films, "Lee's Ghost" & "Mothers Against Pornography," written and directed by me. "Lee's Ghost" features the ghost of General Robert E. Lee and the only living soul who can see or hear him.  "Mothers Against Pornography" is an interview style mockumentary about an organization with an unexpected grievance against pornography.  Both will be shot in and around the Houston, TX, area and feature local talent.

With the additional budget obtained here, these shorts will be produced in full HD video and with higher audio quality than my previous sketches.  Equipment rental, costumes, and props make up the majority of the budget; all cast and crew will be volunteer; and one third of the budget is reserved for the DVD production & shipping for you, the backers. 

Once completed "Lee's Ghost" and "Mothers Against Pornography" will be submitted to film fests, released on DVD & digital download, and then posted for online screening.  Backers participating can receive DVD's, digital copies, or simply advanced screening online.  There is no level of contribution that does not receive either a copy or screening opportunity of the very project that you are backing, and all of these rewards will be sent to the project's backers before the shorts are shown anywhere else.  This means you receive the first look!

These shorts will be completed and all rewards issued by mid October, making the reward on your backing rapid.  In addition to "Lee's Ghost" and "Mother's Against Pornography," the DVD's will also include six previously released sketches as bonus content.  Backers will be updated regularly with behind the scenes photos, castings, wrap on shooting, and more.
