About this project
Last year, Clem Snide was invited to The A.V. Club's Undercover series, and chose to cover Journey’s 1983 classic of road-weary love and devotion, “Faithfully.” Interpreted for just ukulele and voice—and a bit of whistling—the song proved gorgeously heartfelt in Clem Snide’s hands.
It was so gorgeous, in fact, that it would be a shame for the Clem Snide/Journey flirtation to end there. At the behest of The A.V. Club’s Josh Modell (who also runs micro-indie label Foreign Leisure), Clem Snide—led as always by singer-songwriter Eef Barzelay—agreed to tackle an EP’s worth of Journey songs. But we need your help to make it happen.
We’re going to release this very special record—Clem Snide’s Journey—as both a super-duper limited vinyl EP (500 pressed) and as a digital download. There are no plans for a CD release. There are pledge levels for fans of all stripes, from a simple download to a private concert with Eef. We’re shooting for a late summer release.
Our target amount reflects the cost of manufacturing and shipping the vinyl, as well as recording these songs. Any amount raised above our target will go toward keeping Clem Snide in business.

Songwriter/musician Eef Barzelay has been making music--both as Clem Snide and under his own name--since the early '90s.
Foreign Leisure is a barely existent micro-indie label that has released just eight things in 10 years, including the vinyl versions of Eric Bachmann’s solo album, To The Races, and most of the Maritime catalog on vinyl.
