Update #4 · Apr 4, 2013 · comment

Hello, Nancy, Please Kickstarter Backers!

We're delighted to announce that our film (and yours) Nancy, Please has been acquired by the immensely cool distributor Factory 25 and will begin a week-long theatrical run this Friday, April 5 at the Facets Cinematheque in Chicago, IL, followed by a week at New York's reRun Theater starting on May 24 (view our new trailer here). Details on runs in other cities, as well as a full digital platform release, to follow in the near future. Thanks again for your support and be sure to tell all your Chicago and NY-based friends to check out 'Nancy' on the big screen!

Best,
Team Nancy

Dearest friends, colleagues, assorteds,

You can't understand how thrilled we are that, thanks to ALL of you, NANCY, PLEASE not only reached its funding goal, but surpassed it. As we've said before, every CENT helps, and now, as we gear up for actually filming this thing in -- eeeeek - about TWO WEEKS - know that your kind donations will be put to good use.

We will keep you posted as we progress to making the most incredible film we can (which is pretty damn incredible) and you guys are all truly our heroes!

With love, gratitude, and a newly revitalized love of humanity,
The NANCY, PLEASE Team

INCREDIBLE!!!!

Update #2 · Sep 30, 2010 · comment

Wow.

With still 11 days left on the Kickstarter clock, NANCY, PLEASE has reached it's Kickstarter goal!!!! Truly remarkable.

What does this mean, you ask? It means we're hurtling headlong into production on the film THIS YEAR! To say we're thrilled is a vast understatement. And it's all thanks to you – the friends, family, colleagues, and enterprising associates who made this possible with your generous contributions. Your faith is our team and the project is truly overwhelming. THANK YOU so much for your help.

But the NANCY, PLEASE KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN 2010 is not over yet! As we head into production, we will need all the additional financial support we can muster. So please encourage your friends and colleagues to contribute to our fine project via Kickstarter and help us build on what we've already achieved! Our production will be small and scrappy, so any donation will help us to make a stronger, better film. We've got the momentum now – let's keep it rolling!

Furthermore, if you or anyone you would like to support NANCY, PLEASE but cannot donate cash money, we will gladly accept support in the form of time, labor, favors, discounts, equipment, expendables, snacks and drinks (snacks and drinks are BIG), or anything else that might help our ship sail smoothly and confidently. Have a load of extra duvetyne? We'll take it! Sitting on tons of bagels and Gatorade? Give us a call! Have a great lead on cheap production insurance? We want to know about it! Don't hesitate to chime in with your support, even if it isn't financial. An independent film needs all the supporters it can get!

Thanks again, everybody. You = the best.

humbled,
The Nancy Team

On Our Way!

Update #1 · Sep 28, 2010 · comment

Hey, 'Nancy, Please' Fans! (I need to come up with fun nickname for die hard fans of the project. Nancies? Pleasers? Please Heads? Suggestions are welcome).

So far, things are going swimmingly with the NP Kickstarter campaign and we are frankly delighted. We're a week in and we already over a third of the way to our goal, which is nothing to sneeze at! A huge thank you to everyone who's been so kind as to donate – you guys are our heroes and we truly appreciate every penny that's come our way.

That being said, there's still a long way to go. We've got two weeks to rustle up an additional $6500 or so, otherwise we won't meet our 10K goal and all the funds pledged thus far will evaporate. We'll be left with nothing but good intentions and an awkward video of me in the tub. So, if you can, please spread the word! Tell all your pals (particularly the very wealthy ones with loads of disposable income) to check out our page and consider donating. Our entire project hangs in the balance! Every little bit of money, every Facebook post, every forwarded email helps.

From the Excellent News Department:

As we await the results of our Kickstarter campaign, we continue to forge ahead, developing 'Nancy, Please' and readying it for a late autumn shoot. In recent days, we've been so fortunate as to get brilliant cinematographer Eric Lin (who photographed the entrancing The Exploding Girl) and equally brilliant Production Designer Ana Cambre to sign on to our project. YES!!! I am very, very excited to have these two on board. With a top-shelf team like this, the movie's sure to look fantastic. We feel tremendously lucky to have them on the NP team.

So things are looking promising. Let's keep the momentum up, keep hope alive, and get this thing made.

thanks again,
Andrew
