Thanks to a $12,000 in-kind donation, we have almost met our pre-production budget. We are $3,500 from that goal on Half-Moon Prairie. Now, we look forward to our visit with the Alabama-Coushatta elders in Livingston, Texas. We will hear the history of the tribe and their contributions to the Republic of Texas. We are deeply honored by their correspondence saying the elders will receive us.
We've also planned the production's shooting sites.
Site 1: AFCI Piedmont/Triad Film Commission. We are excited to work in this beautiful and culturally rich area. Most recent filming there includes the Amish inspired movie, The Shunning bit.ly/wuVuma. The Piedmont/Triad Film Commission is also actively working on The Confession by the same producers of The Shunning.
Site#2 : Alabama - Battle of the Horseshoe Bend National Park. I am still working to find out about the permits, but filming here is a critical site. www.AlabamaFilm.org/
Site#3: Texas Hill Country - Austin Film Commission
The Kickstarter amount we are hoping to fund is for the production phase of Half-Moon Prairie which will begin this Fall, an idyllic season for filming in the southeast and Texas.
