Exciting times ahead.
It's been quite a week.
First of all, we have some some exciting news…
After showing the samples to as many people as possible at SXSW, we were happy to go ahead and give the factory the green light. Thank you very much to everyone I met - your feedback was invaluable and I really appreciated it.
The factory is now making the first batch of Projecteos to be delivered sometime in early April.
The special edition Rollei editions may take just a little bit longer because we've decided to have the top shell vac-plated to get a lovely metallic finish which will hopefully pay a fitting tribute to the original Rollei P35.
We'll open the website to our first backers as soon as those units arrive and will be rolling out in increasingly large numbers as we nail down the fulfillment process. A few people have been asking about how we will receive and develop your pictures, so I'll explain that now...
We're building a responsive website that will work on both Android and iOS. Go on the site and you'll be asked to sign into your Instagram account. We'll then pull all of your images from your account onto our site. Don't worry, we won't keep them anywhere we shouldn't and we won't claim any rights over your pictures. Then you choose which nine pictures you would like to have in your wheel. Once you have chosen, you confirm your order. All we ask is that you don't delete your chosen images from your Instagram account until you have received your Projecteo. This way we always have a reference to work from whilst we're in the dark room.
Some of you have also been contacting me regarding changes of address - After you have confirmed your order, you will be taken through to an address form. Put your most up to date address in here and we'll send it to that address for you. This also means that if you would like to send a Projecteo as a gift, you can just input the recipients address and we'll send it to them instead.
Let me know if you have any other questions about this process and I'll post all answers in the FAQ at the bottom of the project page.
With regard to the fulfillment process: I'm in NYC at the moment and will be heading up to Albany on Sunday afternoon to send out twelve Projecteos as preliminary tests before receiving the first batch. I'll let you know how this goes.
So…exciting times ahead! Thank you all so much for your support, it's been such an amazing experience so far and I can't wait for the next few weeks, they're going to be awesome.
As always, drop me a line if you have any questions at all.
Have an awesome day.
Ben
ps: I'm thinking of organising a Projecteo Meetup in NYC to have a play around with the production samples. Keep an eye on the Facebook page ( http://www.facebook.com/Projecteo ) for details.

Hi,
Indeed, "we" backed a project called "The Thiny Instagram Projector", but lot of us, did have an Instagram account, at that time, but did close/delete it since.
that's my case (I becomed an avid user of Path, and had my instagram account becoming more and more empty for the last 2 years...), and I don't think that I should have to recreate one and upload the photo I like to see on the tiny wheel.
Instagram, Path, etc... use the same Square Format, and should be usable to produce our wheels :)
isn't it ?
also, you just need the link to our photos, not us to upload it to your servers, so...

You guys...backed a project titled "The Tiny INSTAGRAM Projector"....and you don't have instagram...?
Creator terry on March 15
i dont use Instagram..can i email you the pictures i want on my film / slide show
thanks

Ditto the instagram question, I also don't have an account and as I was planning on using professional images of my artwork for my first wheel and showcasing my projector alongside the work, I'm a little hesitant to upload my images where they could potentially by unattributed to myself or my photographer, or even worse sold!

Granted, we DID pledge towards a project creating an "Instagram projector," I sort of concur that having alternate options would be a plus. I don't personally even HAVE an Instagram account so I would have to pro-actively create an account just for this purpose...though recent shenanigans I've read in the news make me suspect.
On another note, with respect to the actual film processing, development, and mailing....what sort of daily capacity do you believe you have to make good on picture wheel orders? Do you have the ability to scale as demand grows or, perhaps, to handle short-to-moderate term spikes in media orders?
Creator James Clutterbuck on March 14
Will there be an alternative image upload site for those of us who have chosen to no longer use Instagram?
Creator Ignacio Pallares Sevilla on March 14
This is great news! Im excited! However, what about uploading pictures not on Instagram? Will we have that option?
Creator Jamie on March 14
Exciting times guys! Thanks for the news.
