Batteries and macro lenses

Hello everyone,

I hope this finds you well. Just a quick word on batteries. When the second batch of samples arrived we noticed that one of the Projecteos had switched on during the journey. To avoid any risk of this happening when we ship you your Projecteo, we’ll be packing batteries separately to be installed on opening.

To make putting the batteries in as simple as possible, we’ve had them wrapped in a little sleeve of cellophane to keep them all in one piece. You don't have to remove this when inserting batteries into Projecteo.

The sleeve in the pic above is purple but the one we’ll ship Projecteos with will be transparent.

Projecteo V1 takes three LR41 watch batteries. Replacements are available from most hardware stores, large supermarkets and watch shops. They’ll also be available from the projecteo website as a cellophane wrapped stack of three.

In other news, I was playing around with my Projecteo the other night and realised that if you pull the lens out (there’s a trick to it) it makes for a pretty sweet little macro lens.  Place it over the lens of your camera phone and voila! A mini macro lens! I experimented on some old circuit boards using my phone - the component you see here is 3mm wide!
