AM Northwest Promotional Interview
Here is an interview on AM Northwest, a Portland morning interview show. Thanks Helen and Dave!
The goal of this project is to create a pilot and a documentary about the lives of children in other countries. Kids are kids no matter where they are in the world and what changes is the food they eat, how they play, where they learn, when they work, and who is important to their lives. We plan to share cultures of the world through the kids of the world.
We will be traveling to Egypt. I chose Egypt for three very specific reasons. First, Egypt has been in the news a lot lately and its political issues are fresh on everyones mind. Second, we can mooch off of my sister and her family to keep costs down,. Won’t they be surprised when I knock on their door? Third, we have Ashraf and Ahmad. These two guys know Egypt inside and out and will help us avoid cultural blunders and get closer to the real Egypt.
The funds we are raising will go to travel, equipment rental, gifts for the children, and location costs. Every dollar will go to practical use. Any extra money will be used for upgrades on equipment and promoting the pilot through film festivals and any means necessary to get the project to the public. If we raise enough we will start planning out next episode
We can never thank you enough for your generosity in supporting our project However, we have tried to put together some rewards that will make you feel that you are a part of the project. Beginning with a donation of $110 we will purchase a special gift in Egypt just for you and bring it back with us. I can't wait until we try to come through customs with 300 copper plates.
