MOOSE ON THE LOOSE, a new comedy by Dina Morrone, about an Italian family and a Canadian moose... l o o s e l y based on true events...
Hi. I am REACHING OUT TO FANS AND SUPPORTERS OF LIVE THEATER to please help me herd my MOOSE out of the cold snowy Canadian bush and onto a nice warm stage where it belongs. June 3 2011, Me and My Big Mouth Productions and Theatre West will present a world premiere of my full-length comedy ‘MOOSE ON THE LOOSE’ at Theatre West in Los Angeles and, let me just say, our MOOSE is very excited but HE NEEDS YOUR HELP to make it happen. Here’s how. It’s as easy as ONE, TWO, THREE and, oh, yeah, FOUR.
ONE - THANK YOU for reading this and allowing me to present it to you and introduce you to KICKSTARTER. *If you contribute through KICKSTARTER and we make our goal, then your pledge is charged to your credit card and we get the money to use toward the production. If we don’t make our goal, your credit card is not charged and we don’t get any of the money. It’s really that simple.
TWO - THEATRE WEST is a 501c 3 non-profit organization so any contribution you make will be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
THREE - MOOSE ON THE LOOSE is about a life-changing encounter between an ITALIAN FAMILY and a CANADIAN MOOSE. When A loose moose wanders into town, four generations of an Italian/Canadian immigrant family soon realize the moose is not the only one that is displaced and confused. The Tappino family - Rodolfo, Pina, Maria and Giuseppe, left the Mediterranean warmth of Southern Italy, in the early 60’s, with no idea of where in the world they were actually headed except that it was somewhere in North America. They soon realized they were probably in the wrong place when they arrived in Way Up Bay, Canada. That’s bush country, north of the icy cold snowy shores of Lake Superior, where wind-chill drops winter temperatures below forty Celsius. Did I mention it's cold, there’s snow, and there are a lot of moose in Way Up Bay? Now, for those of you not familiar with a moose, it's a rather large brown haired animal with big antlers that stands seven feet at the shoulders, can weigh close to a ton, appears to look dumb or confused, which it may or may not be, and it has feelings too. So, whether you're a moose on the loose or an Italian from Calabria, living in Way Up Bay, blending in is never easy.
And, FOUR, finally - I am thrilled that you will at least consider becoming a part of our team along with ME and MY Big Mouth Productions and Theatre West by contributing through KICKSTARTER to this groundbreaking production. It’s great to be able to offer friends and fans of theater a chance to connect and support this project at such an early stage. It’s also great to know that you can pledge money at any level simply by clicking your pledge right now through this site and become a member of the MOOSE team! Bringing MOOSE ON THE LOOSE to the stage has been a full time mission driven by an intense passion to tell this story. Through the writing process it became clear to me that what I was writing about was as UNIVERSAL as it was PERSONAL. Our ambitions are high and we have assembled a great team of producers and performers and artists to push our MOOSE forward to success. Everyone has given generously of their time. We can now OFFER YOU the opportunity to give small or large with a pledge that you can look back on and say, “I was a part of MOOSE ON THE LOOSE when it was first produced. I helped make it happen.” Once again this is HOW IT WORKS: If I can raise the goal amount of $7,000, which represents a only a portion of the entire budget for the show, then I get the pledged amount to use toward the production of the play. But if I don’t raise the full amount, then I don’t get ANY of it. So every dollar counts! Please help to spread the word in case you know friends who would like to contribute.
THANK YOU for your time, support, and money and I hope to see you at Theatre West for MOOSE ON THE LOOSE.
*Just another reminder that your contribution will be a TAX DEDUCTIBLE contribution to a 501c3.
