Thank you to everyone who is making this project possible! We had an exciting weekend of donations. We also received a lot of private messages from all of you with ideas and feedback on the game concept.
One of the great aspects of Kickstarter is the way we get to connect with our fans. We really want your feedback and creative ideas as we develop this game. Throughout the Kickstarter campaign we will post updates and screen shots of our recent game development.
Here's a screenshot of the entrance to the spider level. Notice the ax that the stickman is carrying. Our programmer Matt has developed a really cool system to allow your stickman to pick up items that you draw. Let us know what you think!

Even if you can't get DrawSomething to help, doing something like creating a website and just asking people to draw various nouns could be a good way to build up a visual recognizer. All your kickstarter people would probably spend a while contributing drawings if it would help the final product recognize drawings better.

Smercer, that's a cool idea! I think it's really neat how drawing games are becoming popular right now. The iPhone and iPad are the perfect interface for creative drawing games!

Have you ever played the game "DrawSomething" which is popular on the various smartphones? I wonder if you could somehow get the developers of that game to show you the things people draw for various words and thus build up a deeper database of "this drawing means this word and so should be animated in this way".
