Kickstarter

The Oklahoma shoot is going great, thank you for helping us get here.  We've shot scenery in central Oklahoma, dodged tornadoes, shot the creative opening title sequence for the film, interviewed bakery owner Jackie Johnson, and appeared on a television talk show!  It's been an amazing whirlwind, and I'm so excited the film is really starting to come together.

Here's a few photos from the past 3 days: Jackie and me at KSBI being interviewed about Baking Alaska, the filming of the opening title sequence, and Jackie and myself with the lovely Oklahoma location producer Marcie Price.

Next stop is Homer, Alaska in the summer.  We'll keep you updated!

Hello there!  We're headed to Oklahoma tomorrow to wrap up filming in the Sooner state, we can't thank YOU enough for helping us make this happen. 

Kari will be traveling to film the opening title sequence, interviews, scenery shots and other important parts of the film with the help of Oklahoma-based filmmaker Marcie Price.  Laura Triana will be holding down the fort in Washington, D.C., continuing to mix up some awesome graphics and animation for the film. 

I can't tell you how amazed and appreciative I am that we reached our funding goal so quickly - 3 days!  Please keep spreading the word - any funds we raise now will go towards post-production in the fall.  This will help us out a lot!   

I'll send you updates from Oklahoma to let you know how the filming is going.  Thank you again for joining us on this adventure.

I want to thank everyone for an AMAZING first day of our Kickstarter funding campaign.  Thirty hours after going "live" we are within $300 of our goal!  I never expected this and am touched beyond words by your response.

This weekend is going to be a big weekend for the project.  "Sous Chef" Laura Triana and I will be story boarding the opening credit sequence of the film.  Laura will be drawing pictures of the scenes I want to film on the Oklahoma shoot April 12-16.  Of course once on the ground in the Sooner State everything is likely to change, but that's the fun of documentary filmmaking!
