We want the website to become a fairly open dialog with our backers as well as people who are curious about the project. So don't feel shy!

Update #8: Step 1 Complete!
So if your looking here you most likely know that we were able to reach our goal, actually well above our goal! We were very excited to see this and honestly it is all because of you guys. I can't stress enough how thankful we are to everyone. We hope in the coming months we can reciprocate this back to you by working hard and making an extremely enjoyable game.
We reached not only our base level goal, but also the $10,000 goal and $12,500 goal. This means a few things which I will details. First off, we will be making a Mac OSX port of the game one of our priorities. Second, everyone who is going to receive a copy of the game will be given a code for a unique pet dragon egg, a special thanks from us to you. Lastly, we will be bundling our voxel editing tool into a separate application and giving this freely out to both backers and non-backers alike.
As details in our project, our goals at the moment is to release and begin Beta about 2 months from now. The actual release of the project we plan to be 6 months from now. In the more immediate future, we plan to be getting forums up on our website in the middle of the week. The forums will be a good central location for us to begin talking with all of you one on one, sharing what we have as well as getting input from you. We will make an announcement about this via Kickstarter when this happens, so stay tuned!
So yes, thank you, thank you, thank you everyone who supported our project. We couldn't have done this without you! Stay tuned for more soon to come updates about development and planning!

Congrats on reaching your goal!, I wish you the best for the next couple of months, seems like there will be a lot of tweaking ahead.
I couldn't wait a few days to post on the forum...
So in the mean time, have you ever heard of a still-developing game called "cube world"
It's not out yet, but it takes your same inspirational themes (i.e. minecraft & Zelda) but instead of old school 8 bit zelda, they are closer to n64 (and beyond) zelda.here's a youtube video of it in action:
http://www.youtube.com/watch…I feel that there are a few key concepts from that game that Forge quest could adopt and really be great. (ex. 1. randomly generated quests, 2. block/parry attacks, 3. collateral damage to landscape when attacking/being attacked by monsters. , etc.)
also on a side note: will the armor/clothing of the character change when switching clothes, like when switching weapons/pick axe? I've noticed so far that it doesn't.

Update #7: Tech Update - Dynamic Water, Teleportation, Houses
Below is a video showing you a few of the features that we have been hard at work on. Much of our time has been spent writing back end systems to support game features such as teleportation to zones, house, dungeons, as well as more visual features like the dynamic water system. Although not the most glamorous features, they are key pieces to allowing us to make the world dynamic experience for the player.
As we near the close of the Kickstarter project we will be ramping up development in attempt to reach out 2 month goal for Beta testers. In that time we expect to revisit the art and animation as well as hard define the play experience and content. We want to keep our backers involved in this process and will be setting up systems, such as website forums, to begin getting ideas and opinions. Stay tuned for our next updates!

Charles: There was actually a lot of discussion about this when we designed the system. We choose not to represent volume, it instead extends from a source object up until a certain distance away. We choose that method because it was more conducive to proper gameplay as well as network efficiency.

So forgive me if I'm being ignorant, but is there more freestyle house/structure building than what was shown here? One of the best parts of Minecraft/Terraria is being able to built anything... Just thought I'd ask.
