Vintage Theater proudly presents the world premiere of Woman School, a new adaptation of The School for Wives by Moliere.

Vintage Theater Collective is proud to present Woman School, by Eric Powell Holm, adapted from The School for Wives by Moliere.

Arnolphe is a notorious cynic and a confirmed bachelor--so when he announces his impending marriage, his best friends are shocked. But not as shocked as when he explains why his marriage will be a faithful one: he's been training a wife for himself. His Woman School's only pupil is now all grown up and ready for the wedding. Agnes is Arnolphe's perfect wife: beautiful, innocent, and trained to be exquisitely dumb. But when an unexpected visitor disrupts his plans, Arnolphe will stop at nothing to keep his prospective bride safe and stupid. 

Vintage Theater Collective is super excited about Woman School, our final production of the 2011 season in residence at Strawdog Theater. One of the most exciting parts about Woman School is Vintage's collaboration with Kaity Licina, who will design the show. Kaity's design is specifically focused on wigs. Awesome, awesome wigs. 

But wigs cost money (duh). We need your help to realize Kaity's design for this show! 

Woman School will perform at Strawdog Theater (3829 N Broadway, Chicago) on:


  • Sunday, October 16-Wednesday, November 9th
  • Sundays at 1 PM 
  • Mondays-Wednesdays at 7:30 PM 
(with no shows October 17th & 25th)

Tickets are $20, $15 for students/industry
