Omega Sector Gameplay Breakdown
This game is a open sandbox game similar to Eve online or Grand Theft Auto. Players can choose between two factions Terran Alliance or Carniae Imperium. Once they select a race a player can mine, run missions, explore the Narious System. Players can purchase many vehicles and ships and all ships have fully working interiors for players to wage war in. The goal of the game is to obliterate the opposing forces in the system. To do this they must destroy the other teams main fortress and to be able to do that they must take forts to shutdown the main Fortress shield array. Once that is down and the base is destroyed the opposing team is rewarded and all kills are cataloged on a kill-board on the website. However players can also play other game modes such as team death match, capture the hammer(flag), ship to ship battle. Each mission gives players level ups to unlock new tiers of vehicles and ships. For example player starts off as a private so only ground vehicles and drop-ship are available for purchase then when that player ranks up to Captain they may purchase their first ship and begin manning it with their friends to unleash hell on others. Another Mode is Sandbox or Free-mode in which all planets are available for conquest and players can ban together with their clan to take planets or run missions. It is totally up to the player how they play the game if they want to be a bad ass marine they can be one or if they want to be in command of a powerful warship they can do that as well.. or just man the guns and have fun hearing the BOOM the guns make. It is totally up to the player and how they play the game.

What we plan to do with the funds:
first off we plan to pay our loyal team members for work already done and hire on new talent. Also it will allow us to fund the T-shirts and mugs we will give to our contributors for our project. Also will upgrade our current version of Unity to Pro so we can have better effects and more features for the game that indie just doesn't provide. Also get proper servers for the game to reduce lag and load on clients machines. Every dime not used to get everyone their awesome awards will be used to hire new people to bring this game to final polished product for all to enjoy. 50,000 will give us a few months of development time so every dollar beyond what we are asking will give us more time to create a fully polished product for you the gamer. Here's why we need more artists we have ship designs but nothing is final product as they are missing textures ,normal mapping, spec, etc.
Also with the limited Editions backers can choose their faction by emailing Thomas Baca(ThomasAnthonyBaca@gmail.com) but if they don't they will receive an Alliance vessel by default. Limited Edition ships will have features and bonuses that normal ships do not have in the game. They have yet to be made but will be unveiled to our backers when we have completed each one.
We all plan to have all current team members work full time to finish the game. The end result of the game will be glorious if not amazing. We have come along way since 2010 and we plan on making this game our flagship title and many sequels will be planned based on how well our game does and our ability to make fellow gamers happy.
Who Is Blacken Steel Studios?
Blacken Steel Studios was created july of 2010 and currently has 1 artist, 1 programmer, a sound team, and a few writers. We got together originally after trying to remake 7th Legion but instead found a new project we could get into Omega Sector but at the time it was called Stardust : Empire at War. Little did I know about Stardust HD so I quickly changed the name of the project. Ever since we are a small dedicated team that does work in our spare time. Thomas Baca was the sole programmer on the project and created all the gameplay mechanics that are currently in the videos. Thomas Baca is from Phoenix , AZ. Most of the team is overseas so most of the work is done remotely.
What's Done so far?
Current build is primarily a prototype of what the gameplay will be like not a finished or near finished product. About 40% of the gameplay mechanics are currently done the rest is either still being prototype out or not implemented yet. Multi-player was one of the biggest obstacles which was over comed and fully implemented into the game. Next was re-spawning, weapons, vehicles, ships, custom characters, etc. Then various reworking of the level and play testing new features and fixing bugs.

Game's End Results:
When the game is done there will be 6 planets (10km x 10km for each planet area) all conquerable and ready for players to invade and defend. Customizable ship loadouts as well soldier loadouts. Epic Space battles for vital reasources to build the largest ships in game to utterly destroy anything that stands in their way. Basic gameplay is 2 sides against one another and each team must build up their fleet and ground forces to destroy the opposing team's capital fortress. Terran Alliance and Carniae Imperium are the two forces clashing over the neutral area known as Omega Sector. Full customization over ships, characters, weapons, and armor. Fully dynamic gameplay experience for all players since this is a open sandbox game. Players can play how they see fit if they want to be the hero of the Terran Alliance or become the pirate of their dreams Omega Sector will allow players to do just that.
