Markers of Time is a kinetic installation that addresses urban development and its relationship to ecological preservation.

I invite you to be part of my latest site-specific installation in Benicia, California. I am installing a project in Arts Benicia’s 2000sqft gallery over 20 days as part of a joint collaboration with the London/San Francisco based architectural team, Warm Baby.
I am creating kinetic sculptures of birds, whose shadows are cast around the gallery with the use of an LED lighting system. The piece explores the cycle of nature, and includes lights of varying temperatures to simulate seasons; times of day; and ultimately, our life span here on earth. An audio piece will be incorporated into the installation. The bird shadows remain a symbol of nature in decay and will fly amongst the maps of structural decay created by WarmBaby.
This project has received funding from the Fleishhacker Foundation. Your help is greatly appreciated. Funds received are going to pay project support staff including the audio engineer and videographer. Thank you for your support!
