This is the next generation of travel wear. Gone are the days of stains, wrinkles, soggy clothes, and bulky travel bags. 

Adventure Wear will be the one nice shirt you need on your trip. Stains come out, it won’t wrinkle, and it dries quickly, taking you from the boardroom to the barroom and back again. 

Where I got the Idea

While staying in Sao Paulo, Brazil, I made friends with several Italian immigrants who, like me, were trying to eke out a living and extend their stay. Some of their friends from Italy came to visit during the Sao Vito festival, which is basically a two month party celebrating all things Italian. Of course, we had to take them out to enjoy the festival. Unfortunately, they would only be there from Monday until Thursday.

Keep in mind, I was traveling, so I only had one nice shirt. I just had to wash it a lot.

We were out all night in typical Brazilian style, drinking wine and watching the sun rise over the water. It was about this time I looked down to realize my clothes were completely ruined. We had left directly from work, and there was no time to change. Now it was time to go to work again, and my clothes were covered in grease, wine, and mud. No way I could go in looking like that. I panicked for about an hour and tried to clean my shirt off. That only made it wet in addition to dirty. Finally I called a friend and borrowed a shirt from him. That morning I was late, and in trouble. That made me think: What if I had a shirt that could match the flexible and unpredictable life of a traveler?

The Solution

I realized that travelers needed something to lighten their load. Something versatile and resilient that could go on as many trips as they did. A shirt that they could wear to work, to the bar, to the Tomatina, whatever, then just wash it off and wear it again the next day.

What is it?

Adventure Wear has been in the making for almost a year now. In that time I have worked with several different designers in an attempt to find the perfect fabric: a blend of natural and synthetic fibers to maximize comfort, dry speed, style, and durability. I also researched many different nano washes to find the best stain release and resistant formulas.

Once I brought the fabric and the stain-release formula together, I began testing prototypes to find the perfect blend of fabric and concentration of stain-release to make the best shirt for travelers.

The tests performed include both in-house, controlled tests with specific substances and real life tests. I also gave the shirts to friends who I knew would be doing traveling or other adventurous things so they could give me independent feedback as to how Adventure Wear works in real life. You can see the data table from the tests and their testimonies below. 

Our Goal

Our goal at Adventure Wear is to make life easier for travelers and professionals everywhere. Why worry about your nice clothes when you can just ball them up and throw them in your suitcase? Why let grease stains make you change your whole wardrobe?

The shirts are made from a blend of polyester and cotton, which gives them a combination of breathability, durability, and comfort. Applied to the fabric is a stain-release treatment that we have tested both in house and in real world trials to determine how durable the shirts are. See the chart above for exact data.

The design is intended to look good in and out of the office, and keep you comfortable and dry while traveling.
