About iSteadi

What it is:

iSteadi is the ultimate snap-in conversion kit for iPhone 4; 4S and virtually any other mobile phone thanks to a Universal Mounting Kit.

In a blink of an eye it transforms a standard phone into a semi-professional steadicam*.

It features :

+ adjustable case to fit the hilt onto the phone;

+ ergonomic hilt for a comfortable and safe grip;

+ balancing mechanism to minimize the vibrations transmitted to the images.

How it works:

As a standard steadicam, iSteadi operates on the principle of the pendulum: if we hold an object by its center of gravity without transferring torque, the object tends to maintain its angular position minimizing the vibrations transmitted to the image.

The center of gravity is brought inside the handle by a barbell made by a telescopic antenna.

This way, the steadicam can be easily packed away and the operator can adjust the balance with only small changes of the antenna length.

About our Plan

Our Goal:

Our true wish is to release iSteadi to the world and finally share this innovative product so that anyone can enjoy it! Not only do we want to offer you a great opportunity to make your videos look better but we also want you to join us in this project. 

The Schedule:

We’ve got the final design and a prototype that has been thoroughly tested. Now we need to start engineering the injection molds and produce them in order to start production, which is the most costly process of all. Then, once our funding goal is reached, we'll start making those molds so our parts for your iSteadis can be ready in a four month time. In any case, before the deadline, we'll be working on the final details of the packaging, and the shipping organization.

We'll be also uploading images and post info of our progress here on KickStarter and on our webpage. Stay tuned; we would love your input.

The Money:

In order to make iSteadi durable, high quality, and cost-effective we need to injection mold the parts. This means expensive molds (6-7) that have to fit together very precisely!

We can rely on an extraordinary team of friends who are sharing our very same passion about this project so that we could really compress costs to a minimum. However we still need your help to complete the project, being our minimum funding goal $50.000.

The money we raise will go directly into producing the tooling plus pay for small parts, packaging, and shipping for your very iSteadi. 

The Team:

iSteadi is an idea born in the head of Italian inventor Marco Zangirolami and the amateur cameraman Simone Leonard Banchio in collaboration with NC based  design expert Salvatore Guerra who collaborated during the entire project over the internet and is presently the project leader.
