About this project
Some of you are here because you like to browse Kickstarter and see the very cool pursuits of creative people. Others are here because you already know me or have heard me play somewhere. To all of you, welcome to my Kickstarter home! And here’s my story…
Ten years ago I recorded my first CD of original music… It was six songs of the 20 or so I had written at the time. A few years later I recorded four Christmas songs on my own at home to sell at holiday parties, and finally began going to Nashville to record my most recent EP of five songs.
People have been asking me when I’m going to have a CD of my newer stuff. So, I have begun recording again in Nashville with some wonderfully talented folks that challenge me to grow even more. The sound is a bit jazzy/pop/folk and the synergy there is fantastic. However, it is also a fairly expensive project when you factor in not only the cost of the musicians and their time and talent, but also the production, the mixing and mastering, cover art and photography, printing… And that still doesn’t count the cost for some publicity when it is released.
That’s why I need your help. I want this to be OUR project. I would love for YOU to be part of this story.
Thankfully Kickstarter is a great place for that to happen. It works this way… I am trying to raise $10,000 to cover at least some of the cost of this project. You can look at the various cool things I can give you for pledging certain amounts and then you make your pledge! And certainly share the video with your family, friends, friends of friends, your church, your hair dresser, your teachers…you get the picture. :)
You see, if my $10,000 pledge goal is not reached, then your money stays in your account, I get nothing, and you don’t get the cool rewards that you hoped for (updates, special songs, CDs, etc). :) This all-or-nothing aspect of Kickstarter assures the money that’s received from you is enough to translate into a finished project.
Truly ANY amount that you can give makes a difference and makes YOU part of the story! It will all be much appreciated!
