Hello everyone,

(**cue the trumpets**)

After a LONG 1 & 1/2 year battle with writing the script (thanks James Webb), recruiting the crew (travelling from as far as ATL and NC for the shoot), raising money (thanks again to ya'll), securing equipment (FSU Film School), finding locations, casting actors and a VERY challenging production... WE GET TO SCREEN OUR MOVIE!!! :)

Hello everyone, 

Sorry that it has been a while since the last update, but we have been working steadily night and day on the film. But, I wanted to get your feedback on one of the most important pieces of the film process, the poster! You will find 5 posters (in one image) below, designed by one of our very own backers, Charles Collins III. 

So basically, I'm hoping to premiere the film in May or June sometime! Once I get a date locked down, ya'll will be the first to know! (well, second after my mama ;) 

After the torrent of obstacles thrown our way, I wanted to report to you that we have finally, FINALLY completed principle photography on “Silhouettes”! I’ll never know... but finally shooting “Silhouettes” felt like birthing a child! It was without a doubt one of the most challenging, but most rewarding processes of my life. We had a really great crew and some VERY strong performances by our lead actors!

The movie has a strong visual dependence on the sun (silhouettes and all). Unfortunately, it rained on about 4 of the 7 days of the shoot. So we focused on finishing with the LA actors before they had to leave and now just have to complete two more scenes with local kid actors. 

I expect to be completely done with all photography in early January and then dive head first into the Post-Production process. In early February, we hope to have the film completed and ready for festival submission, just in time for one of the largest black festivals in the country, the American Black Film Festival (which one of our backers, Carey Williams, won last year).

Hello "Silhouettes" friends and family,

Its been a while since you last received an update, but don't you doubt that we have been working very hard on making "Silhouettes" a reality! 

Before we moved forward with production, I needed to make sure we had the right story, crew, cast, equipment availability  etc... There was no way I was going to spend the money that you kindly donated if I could see a major deficiency on the horizon.

I'm happy to report now that we have set our shooting dates of December 11th - December 18th in locations around the Tallahassee, FL area! With our actors secured, crew being built, script locked, 1/2 of the locations locked (and looking beautiful), storyboards finished, etc... we are well on the way to making a fine film! (as long as that Mayan calender doesn't mess things up... Ha!)

Although that means the deliverables won't be ready to mid-February (est) as opposed to November, I'd rather deliver a product you can be proud of than something mediocre. Now, let's go get this Oscar statue! :)

Hello "Silhouettes" Supporters,

I'm hoping that all is going well with you! We went through a nation-wide hunt to find our leading actors for "Silhouettes" - a fairytale style romance about a visually impaired painter that sees the world through silhouettes. 

I'm pleased to introduce Mykel Jenkins as our leading man "Charles" and the lovely Tamara Goodwin as our leading lady "Sylvia"! Both actors are based in Los Angeles, CA!

Mykel Shannon Jenkins Bio:

Mykel Shannon Jenkins, born in Biloxi, Mississippi, to an officer
in the United States Air Force, traveled with his family across the
United States. With his parents and two siblings, Mykel finally settled
in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he graduated from Bonnabel High
School and, thereafter, earned a bachelor's degree from Loyola
University. 

In 2003, Mykel made his move to Hollywood and
began studying his craft at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. He currently
studies under acting coaches, Candy Herman and Eric Stewart. Since
his big move, Mykel has guest starred in several television series,
such as NBC’s Medical Investigation, the WB's Charmed, and, more
recently, ABC's In Justice, Ugly Betty, CBS's CSI: Miami and winner of the first season of.the SOAPnet reality television series I Wanna Be A Soap Star.

Although Mykel is quite busy fine tuning his acting skills, he still finds
time to train physically as well as spiritually. Being a certified personal
trainer, Mykel knows what it takes to maintain a healthy body, i.e.,
hard work and discipline. In his spare time, Mykel enjoys watching
movies, playing softball, bowling and creative writing. At the close of
his busy day, Mykel finds time to play his two favorite roles, a
devoted father and husband, with tremendous patience,
understanding and love.

Tamara Goodwin Bio:

Tamara Goodwin was born with an unmatched drive and exotic looks, Tamara Goodwin is taking the industry by the reigns. Raised in Austin Texas to an African American father and Belizean mother, “T.Good” quickly obtained her BA in Nursing and Masters in Business Administration before the age of 24. During this time she developed a taste for the entertainment industry, co-starring as “Kayla” in NBC’s hit show Friday Night Lights. From there she went on to appear in numerous commercials as well as national print campaigns. ‘Finding Kismet” one of her latest ventures into writing, producing and acting, has received acclaim with multiple festival selections. Tamara has recently started writing a webisode mini series in which she plans to submit to festivals as well. Tamara Goodwin’s determination appears to be limitless with her sights set on more ground breaking projects.
