Just to be sure each of you who pledged to the project understands:
KickStarter's policy on projects that do NOT reach their financial goals is that NO MONEY EXCHANGES HANDS IN ANY DIRECTION. So do NOT expect a charge to your credit or debit card in the amount that you pledged because all of the pledges are now voided and the project is unfunded from the KS campaign.

Update #10: Project Ended as a SUCCESS in Many Ways
Hi Everyone,
Each of you who backed the project are very dear to my heart!!! Even though the number of backers is relatively small, your backing of the project is huge to me!!! Your financial pledge and words of encouragement tells me that people who back the project in the future are likely to be very passionate about the project like you have been. Any project of this nature NEEDS passionate people to be involved with, and in, it to reach success.
The lack of a much larger number of backers also tells me how very specific the audience is for this kind of project, and I am guessing that a lot of that has to do with the main stream's lack of awareness of anything Indian. What surprised me was how small the number of backers actually was, which is probably due to how closely I’m associated with Indian People and non-Indians who are quite aware of Indian life and issues.
HENCE THE NEED for projects like the Crow Tribal Photographs Project, because one of the project’s main goals is to increase the general public’s awareness of Indian People through several different opportunities to experience the Crow Tribe living on their reservation through the various media produced through the project.
As far as another KS campaign goes: no plans to produce another one, but I’m also open to the idea if it makes sense. It is up to the project coordinator to try a second time or not.
I want to say that I'm sorry for the delay in my post-campaign update... I'm attending the 2-week artist retreat at the incredible Brush Creek Ranch resort in Wyoming, 100 miles from my home. Things have been real busy and my mind has needed to be elsewhere so this message hadn't jelled till now.
So, with the KS campaign in the past, I'm working on two main elements to gain funding through the non-profit sector.
First, I will re-establish an organization I founded in Denver in 1986 called Art Peace. Art Peace has been inactive since 1995 but it still has 501(c)(3) IRS tax-exempt standing. Consequently, the work to re-establish Art Peace will not be too involved.
Second is to research grants and other funding sources that are good candidates to partner with Art Peace on the project. The project will remain my project but Art Peace will be the project’s fiscal agent, allowing people, businesses and foundations to donate to the project through a non-profit organization and receive tax deductions for their contributions.
As the project itself moves forward, I hope to remain in touch with each of you, through the project at least. If you’re interested in helping me directly with the project at this point, and am not worried about receiving a tax deduction for your contribution, please let me know and I’ll let you know how to contribute at that time. Also, if you want to wait till Art Peace is up and working so you can receive that deduction, that’s very understandable. I’ll let you know when Art Peace is BACK AND OPERATING!!!
Lastly, but by no means least… If you want to continue receiving updates on the Crow Tribal Photos Project, please let me know. Send me your e-mail address and you’ll be on that list. I will limit this specific list to ONLY the people who pledged to the project through KickStarter, and will provide you with special project information as well as special gifts and discounts on project products and event entrance fees throughout the life of the project. Even though the KS campaign didn’t raise any money for the project, YOUR PLECGES sustained an energy within ME, and I want to thank you for that in this special way…..

Update #9: Campaign has Reached $3,000!!!
Hi Everyone,
We reached the milestone of $3,000 last night, also exceeding 10% of our total goal of $28K!!!
We have only 5 days left in the campaign.... and we have just under $25K of pledges to reach out goal... Although that's a very lofty goal, it IS possible!!! We all know it IS POSSIBLE!!! and as a special means to help it to be possible, I'm asking each of you to REMAIN POSITIVE, and to send out POSITIVE ENERGY in the form of prayers in your own fashion, that the remaining $25K will be pledged within the campaign time... Our combined positive energy or prayers is a POWERFUL FORCE that DOES have an effect on life and on the campaign's outcome, so please join me in sending out that message and energy!!!
Also, Please continue to talk with people about the Crow Tribal Photos Project, and be satisfied that you've made a good effort to help the project succeed. Each of us can only so what we can, and that is enough!!! I've pretty much resigned myself to knowing that there is little more I can do, and so I am OK with that!!! Now, sending out prayers and maintaining positive attitudes are my primary tasks. And yours too!!! And we'll see how our campaign closes... :-))

I’m a photographer living in Laramie Wyoming. I’ve been shooting professionally for over 30 years, doing editorial, fine art and commercial work throughout my career. I grew up in the west and take that personal contextual link to the inner mountain west, and to it’s people, into my work…. and into this project. I’ve been honored to be associated with Indians for nearly 20 years and have followed that connection as it has led me into this project.
In 2002 I finished my Masters Thesis. In it, I analyzed the photographs by Richard Throssel of the Crow and Northern Cheyenne People living on their reservations in the early 1900’s.
Now I want to create a collection of photographs and narratives to compliment Throsse’s work of 100 years ago.
I’m very personable, humorous, sincere and am a talented photographer and writer, and with your assistance, I’ll produce a great project in the Crow Tribal Photographs, Then & Now….
