A short drama about a group of people consumed by a mysterious drug.
WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
True Work is a short drama about a group of people house sitting a luxury beach house, who become addicted to a mysterious new drug, Qualia. The story is told through the eyes of Stanley, played by Bobby Kruger, who's in charge of the house.
Currently, the film is mostly cast and crewed, all that's needed now are the financial resources.
WHY MAKE THIS MOVIE?

The core of this movie is Stanley's conflict with the other house sitters. His refusal to use the drug, but not really having a solid reason why. His deification and devotion to the family who own the house, even though they ignore him. Rules vs. not having rules. Desire for / repulsion of authority. I find all of this pretty fascinating. I've definitely been Stanley before, as I'm sure most of you have. And it's something I'd love to explore through cinema.
WHAT DO WE NEED?
Production funding.
True Work is going to shoot on Canon 7D with multiple cameras operating simultaneously. As such we need funding to rent the equipment, and the accompanying lighting packages, dolly systems, and so on.
$3,400 is the bare minimum figure to get production completed. Unlike many projects from young filmmakers, we also feel that each participant should receive a stipend for their hard work and dedication to the project.
The True Work team believes we are probably going to need additional money once the film is completed. We plan on launching this film into film festivals worldwide and we will be continuing to reach out to investors and partners as production rolls along. However, the initial $3,400 will get us through post production.

WHAT'S THE PLAN?
We plan to shoot in mid September.
It will be a 4 day shoot in New Jersey, the majority of the film taking place in a rented l beach house along the Jersey Shore.
Post-production should be completed by November. As winter comes, the film will be submitted through various conduits to film festivals worldwide.
