About this project
We are SO close to finishing a 4.5 minute cg animated short entitled "HONOR: The End Of War" about two bickering samurais. The story was originally a sketch written by Kevin Bertazzon back in the late 90's for his comedy troupe. The sketch was performed by two women at The Comedy Store, one of whom became his wife, Lori, who is typing this now. Kevin then drew the story into a comic book with the inking and backgrounds done by George Todorovski. In 2007, Kevin, along with Phi Ngyuen and Daniel Lindsey decided to do the comic as an animated short. After three years of "off hours" volunteer time, we have the complete pipeline set up, finished models and rigs, the final look or render has been developed, and 40% of the animation has been completed. But when projects take this long people move away, get married, work over time...life happens. But we just can't let this go with so much already invested and because it'd be so cool. For the past three years Kevin has been animating in his off hours as much as he could on his own. We need the pledges for two animators full time for one month as well as a technical director to move forward on all technical issues and the render process. Kevin will continue to work for free on his own. We are so close. It would really suck to have to let this project die here.

After his expulsion from the George Brown College of Design in Toronto for drawing on the walls, Kevin Bertazzon made a living from alternative comics, freelance illustration, and the odd acting job here and there. After seeing his artwork on the walls of a comedy club, Kevin was approached by the biggest computer animation company in Canada at the time offering to train him to recreate his illustrations as 3D imagery in the computer. Fifteen years later Kevin has since relocated to Los Angeles and worked on such blockbuster films as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Star Trek: Insurrection, and Stuart Little as well as such video game titles as Star Wars, Gears of War, and Medal of Honor. In his down time Kevin has written and produced his own feature length movie, written and performed in his own comedy troupe, written and drawn his own comic books, and all in all noticed a peculiar inclination to tell peculiar stories.
