You can help celebrate 6 years of independent film making in Alexandria, Virginia. Be part of the fun!

The Alexandria Film Festival is a volunteer-run and operated celebration of local and international film-making, acting, artistry, and community discussion. We screened more than 45 films in 2011 and welcomed 40 film-makers to Alexandria. Nearly 2,000 people came out to enjoy our varied screenings, parties, discussions, and programs over a beautiful fall weekend. It's been a great 5 years!
We pride ourselves on bringing high quality film and programming to cozy, historic buildings that reflect the unique diversity and history of our colonial-era town. The Alexandria Film Festival 2012's venues include the US Patent and Trade Office auditorium (600 Dulany Street, Old Town) and the architecturally noteworthy Beatley Library (where the 2012 screenings will be cost-free).
Previous venues have included the Athenaeum, the Lyceum, the Masonic Memorial Temple, the Alexandria Black History Museum and the Chirilagua Four-Mile-Run Community Center. (Our friends at the historic, 1914, Old Town Theater were sorry to report to us that their beautiful venue's renovations will not be completed in time for the festival...but we hope to screen films there another year, soon!)
We aim to keep ticket prices low, or cost-free, and to provide interesting, inclusive, discussion with film makers. Come on out and discover local, regional and international film-making as a vibrant art form...right in your home town!

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The Alexandria Film Festival team has worked diligently with an all-volunteer crew for 5 years to bring film making, discussion and art to our historic town; the AFF employs no paid staff. We live and work here, too, and love to see vibrant arts and civic participation!
The 2012 film festival will offer cost-free films and programs at the Beatley Library, November 16-18, and $15 tickets to the Saturday and Sunday screenings at the US Patent and Trade Office (600 Dulany St, Old Town). Come out and experience state-of-the-art audiovisuals, contemporary discussion topics, professional film makers' expertise, and high quality film-art. Concessions will be available.
Your donations will ensure that independent film making, art, and free-form community discussion has an enduring presence in Alexandria City. Thank you for your contributions!
